The $2.99 app turns an iPhone into a remote trackpad or air mouse. This requires some explaining. Air Mouse lets you control your on-screen cursor using the iPhone’s accelerometers to sense movement. Only those accelerometers don’t sense the sliding motion of the traditional mouse very well, so you move the phone more like a laser pointer, tilting it to navigate the screen. With very little practice, I could move the cursor and click accurately, but detailed work, like highlighting a line in a document requires a bit more expertise. Too much work? Use the trackpad mode instead. The mouse’s many features may be a bit overwhelming for a beginner, with assignable buttons and tabs for iTunes, browser and Facebook controls.

The screen on my old piece of crap Toshiba laptop died, but the rest still works so I kept it and hooked it up to the 19″ flat panel TV in my bedroom. I don’t use it much right now, but football season is coming up fast and I plan on spending no less than eight hours in bed every Sunday with Air Mouse Pro navigating my three fantasy leagues while I flip between TV and PC during commercial breaks. This app I incredibly useful. It was up and running in seconds flat. My travel mouse broke, and this replaced it. Great for making presentations. I'm a speaker, and this is way more convenient to run a presentation than having my whole laptop on the podium with wires running across the room, or even having to use a clicker ( this is more versatile).

Latest keyboard layouts are a great addition. It has worked flawlessly with my Media Center PC in the living room so far. I only wish there was a "MCE mode" whith skip forward/backward keys. Right now I have to use the mouse for that. Other than that, this app is perfect!

This app only works if your comp is using wifi as well. Other apps (Air Share, for instance) work just fine if the computers are connected via Ethernet to the same wifi network as the iPhone, I was counting on this to do the same. Oh well, it sure sounds neat at least.
And I am one of the few having problems with setup with my one comp that does use the wifi, the computer is running the server and my iPhone recognizes the server, but no mouse/keyboard control whatsoever. To prospective buyers, I'd suggest downloading Bonjour first (a free download that this app uses anyways), and testing whether you can get that to work with your device, if yes, buy away!

Great application. Hooked my laptop up to my 50" LCD TV to watch past episodes of TV programs, such as LOST. I sit on my sofa and operate my laptop to watch programs and surf the net all on my huge TV. Also great for powerpoint presentations. I have nothing bad to say about this application!! Downloaded and installed the server and itouch app merely 30 mins ago and I am already addicted. This is a very impressive implementation. Set up was a breeze - probably the easiest two piece solution I have ever installed on a device and laptop. Initial usage was beautiful and I wish I could give this 4 1/2 stars. The one limitation that I feel is a necessity to make this a homerun is a mode that actually behaves as the MBP's trackpad - it could even be a blank screen but would allow the two finger pinch zoom, three finger 'next' and 'previous', etc.

Even on a 2.8 GHz dual core Windows XP machine that is well tuned response, is greatly inferior to the cheapest wireless mouse. The touch screen settings make it it more or less usable but the accelerometer settings make it not usable, IMO. This is the first ap I wanted my money back on.

And for those of you complaining that it's just like a track pad, no duh it's like a track pad..... The whole point of a "wireless" key board and mouse is to get away from your computer, like if you want to hook it up to your TV, or a projector.
But overall, a pretty sweet app. Good job guys.

It was a BREEZE to setup. I downloaded and installed a small little app and changed the ip address and sterted the app up and it was working right away (on windows XP). Perfect execution there.

I use a MacMini as a media hub for my TV: Movies, Music, Pictures - all within Apple Front Row. Well, sometimes you got to steer around the monitor. Until now I used Apple´s bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Way too slow to get them connected. Now I use Air Mouse and it works great!

You know what is great about Apple. If there is an outstanding idea they will make it available regardless of who "loses out." This app is a perfect example of that. This basically eliminates the need for a wireless mouse (or mighty mouse). I had been considering getting a wireless mouse and keyboard for that matter but this nicely priced app is a great alternative especially to the wireless mouse. Again great app excited about the updates.

The app works very well. It does as it says and does an excellent job at it. At first I had some problems installing the Air Mouse server from their website. However I sent an email to them and got a very fast response. (like 10 min. or less) I did as the person suggested and then it worked perfectly! I am extremely impressed with the customer service and the product.

I find the air mouse pretty much unusable (my wrist started to hurt after a while). It is not even close to how a Gyration mouse handles (granted it is somewhat cheaper). The problem is in how it translates accelerometer data. It would be more accurate if it simply used the angle to compute acceleration instead of pinpointing the location on screen. That way if would work for 1080p resolution without having to swing multiple times. The touch pad function is much better, but there is another app that uses the entire screen for touchpad and it only costs $2. That app also has a keyboard that can send ctrl/alt/cursors and functional keys unlike air mouse. I will give the app one more star for fixing the air mouse and another one for fixing the keyboard.

This is the best and most useful application so far. I had purchased a $150 wireless mouse/keyboard to surf web on my plasma tv. Air Mouse is better than that. Great work!
