Good news for owners of the latest iPad. An update to the Facebook app now provides iPad Retina Display support. The 4.1.1 update also includes some other fixes and features, such as the ability to go offline in chat, fixes to photo displays of friends, and some language additions for users outside the US. The latest version of the app requires iOS 4.0 or greater, and it is universal so iPhone users will get an updated version as well.http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facebook/id284882215?mt=8 The Facebook app also allows you to see what friends are near you if your iPhone or iPad is it is equipped with GPS capability. Posted by Jacob Penderworth on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 9:15 am.   Facebook has just updated their iOS app with Retina optimization for Apple’s new iPad, along with the addition of allowing users to go offline in chat, support for eight new languages, and bug fixes. Some of these bug fixes include the app now displaying the correct profile picture for all friends, photos of people who like certain Facebook Pages loading correctly, the friend request notification bubble actually shows when you have a friend request, and more. Also, if you speak Czech, Danish, Greek, Indonesian, Malaysian, Norwegian, Portuguese, or Thai, then the app now has support for all these languages so you won’t have to resort to English or another alternative just to use it. Hopefully the app as a whole is a lot more stable than before, but there’s no mention of performance enhancements in the list of Read More

The Facebook app for iOS has just received an update on the App Store. In addition to some minor enhancement for all iOS users, the app has received an update to support the Retina display found on the 3rd generation iPad. Owners of the latest and greatest iPad will be treated to a “crisp, high resolution interface” which takes advantage of the high-quality output made available by the 2,048 x 1,536 display. Full update details for the Facebook iOS application are as follows: Functionality of the new application remains largely the same, aside from the above referenced new features. If you do happen to own the 3rd generation iPad, however, you’ll be treated to a high-resolution layout of your favorite social network. We particularly like how photos look on Apple’s tablet now. The Retina display on the new iPad, available Friday, is absolutely stunning. However, the increase in resolution actually makes some older apps appear all pixelated and gross. You don’t want to show off your brand new iPad and leave your friends with the impression that the screen on your new tablet is any less clear than a shimmering pool of unicorn tears. Here are several iPad apps that have been updated with Retina-ready graphics so everyone within eyesight can witness the pixel-pushing power of your new Apple tablet. Besides the titles that were featured in the iPad introduction event, Apple has setup a new section on the iTunes App Store to highlight Retina-ready titles. Apple announces top all-time paid and free apps
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Mon, 05 Mar 2012 22:40:00 UTC +00:00
With the 25 billionth app sold the evening of March 3rd to Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China, Apple has now taken the time to tally up the top all-time paid and free apps for iPhone and iPad. The last time Apple updated the list was when a paltry 10 billion apps had gone out the virtual doors of the App Store. While space prohibits posting the entire list here, let it suffice to say that Angry Birds (US$0.99) topped the list for paid iPhone apps, Facebook was the most-downloaded free iPhone app, Pages ($9.99) was the most popular paid iPad app, and Angry Birds HD Free pushed its way to the top of the free iPad app list. MacStories editor Federico Viticci did a slice and dice on the data, and came up with these interesting factoids, among others: - 17 apps from Top Paid for iPhone chart are from the Read More

Facebook 4.1 Update for iPhone Adds Access to Timeline
Mini_discussion_bubble 148 Apps - Posted Wed, 21 Dec 2011 18:45:58 UTC +00:00
By Greg Dawson on December 21st, 2011 The Facebook 4.1 update has enhanced the speed of the app as well as cleaned up profile views and now allows access to Timeline. With over 1.8 million reviews with an average of four stars, the Facebook app for iPhone continues to be one of the most popular in the App Store. However, there are a few gripes and groans on the review board in regards to uploading pictures as well as being able to access Timeline, which launched earlier this week globally. The Zuckerberg-run company pushed out their Facebook 4.1 update for iPhone a few days ago to combat some of these issues as well as offer access to friend lists, subscribers and subscriptions. Overall, the application seems to be faster at executing all the various tasks such as status updates, uploading and tagging photos and zipping through different news feeds. This, I’m Read More

Facebook’s iPhone app gets Timeline, too; iPad version coming soon
Mini_discussion_bubble IntoMobile - Posted Tue, 20 Dec 2011 11:46:13 UTC +00:00
After bringing the Timeline feature to its Android app and the mobile web, Facebook’s iPhone application is now getting the same treatment, too. Yep this means you’ll be able to keep up with your virtual and real-life buddies in real-time, presuming you enabled the feature on the web version. In addition, this release also gives you access to friends lists, subscribers and subscription; while photos are easier to view, upload and comment on. Finally, Facebook promises improved performance of the application. When it comes to the iPad users, they’ll have to wait just a little longer as the social network promised to bring Timeline to Apple’s tablet in the near future. As I’m writing this, you’ve probably noticed some app needs an update from the AppStore icon to which I say – just do it. Facebook Has More Android Than iOS Mobile Users
Mini_discussion_bubble ReadWriteWeb - Posted Mon, 19 Dec 2011 20:00:00 UTC +00:00
AppData.com revealed that daily average use on Facebook for Android has, for the first time ever, surpassed Facebook for iPhone. The Android Facebook app now has 58.8 million daily average users, while Facebook for iPhone has only 57.6 million daily average users. This new data also coincides with the worldwide rollout of Facebook Timeline, which finally happened on December 15, 2011. Last week, Facebook released Timeline for Facebook.com and m.facebook.com, and Timeline for the Facebook Android app. Over the weekend, Facebook released version 4.1 for the iPhone, giving iOS users access to mobile timeline. Facebook did release Timeline for Android first - perhaps they were already seeing higher engagement from Android users. Apple and Facebook do not play nice. Apple baked Twitter, not Facebook, into iOS 5. Facebook, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found. With Facebook for Android surpassing the iPhone app, will Facebook mobile engineers start focusing Read More

"Timeline" feature comes to Facebook's iPhone app
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Mon, 19 Dec 2011 13:30:00 UTC +00:00
Facebook's new "Timeline" layout was finally rolled out globally this week. However, one thing that was missing from Timeline was iOS support. That has been remedied with the Facebook 4.1 app update released yesterday. Now when users who have enabled Timeline (it's live for everyone by default on December 22nd) launch their Facebook app on the iPhone they'll see their Timeline and other user's Timelines right in the app. I've got to say I really am not a fan of Facebook's Timeline layout. However, strangely, I like it a lot when using the iPhone app. It's just laid out much cleaner and flows better in the iPhone app than it does on a desktop web browser. Besides the Timeline, the Facebook 4.1 app adds access to friend lists, subscribers and subscriptions; easier photo uploading and viewing; a new (and much welcome) pop-up interface (as opposed to the "roll-up" screens) to friend Read More

Facebook Adds Timeline Support to iPhone App
Mini_discussion_bubble Mashable - Posted Sun, 18 Dec 2011 20:30:36 UTC +00:00
by Facebook has released an update to its iPhone app, with version 4.1 now giving you access to its new Timeline interface. The timeline was available on iPhone before, but only if you accessed Facebook from its mobile site (m.facebook.com) on the iPhone’s Safari browser. Now you can download an update of the Facebook iPhone app, where it shows you a similar view to that of the mobile browser version. It’s not quite the same as what you’ll get on a desktop browser, where instead of two columns of posts that you get in that larger view, on the mobile version they’re stacked on top of each other. Even so, you can still chronologically scroll through your life, and after you’ve gone through a month’s worth of items, it offers you a selection of the next month or previous years. Besides that, the app feels slightly snappier, as Facebook mentioned in Read More

Facebook iPhone App Updated to Fix Comments Bug

Mini_discussion_bubble App Safari - Posted Sun, 30 Oct 2011 18:08:25 UTC +00:00
Facebook finally released a native iPad app which works as a universal download for both iPhone and iPad users. As new social networking users are going mobile, many have grown accustomed to checking their Facebook updates on the iPad via Safari or using the Facebook iPhone app in 2x mode. Fortunately, the Facebook app has become available to iPad users. One significant advantage of the native Facebook iPad app is that it makes navigation significantly easier. In the past, it was necessary to use a web browser, such as Safari, in order to access Facebook. Unfortunately, users would often become frustrated attempting to scroll through the site and switch between different features. In particular, the chat feature was nearly impossible to use efficiently without a computer. With the use of the new Facebook for iPad tool, however, a menu bar appears on the side in order to make it incredibly easy Read More

Facebook updates iOS app yet again
Mini_discussion_bubble CNET iPhone Atlas - Posted Thu, 13 Oct 2011 15:43:59 UTC +00:00
Facebook's new iOS app Facebook has rolled out two more updates to its iOS app, this time to squash some bugs discovered in the version just released on Tuesday. Released right after Tuesday's 4.0 update, the 4.0.1 update of Facebook for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch specifically fixed issues that caused the app to crash or hang when people upgraded from an earlier version. When I updated Facebook to version 4.0 on my iPod Touch on Tuesday, the app would just crash and refuse to open. I had to remove it and then install the latest version from scratch to force the app to behave. The update appears to have worked since Facebook now opens without any trouble on my iOS device. Following hot on the on heels of 4.0.1, another update out today--4.0.2--has resolved a separate glitch that prevented shortened URLs from resolving properly. Facebook App FINALLY Comes to iPad
Mini_discussion_bubble 148 Apps - Posted Mon, 10 Oct 2011 21:42:37 UTC +00:00
By Blake Grundman on October 10th, 2011 Facebook finally hits the iPad! After over two years of whining and pining, it seems that iPad owners are finally getting their way, in the form of a dedicated Facebook iPad app.  It really comes as no surprise that the application was coming, given that earlier this summer there was a bit of a snafu, allowing jailbroken iPads access to a prototype Facebook app.  Granted, this was only through the existing iPhone application, when installed on the tablet.  The hole was quickly closed by the powers that be at Zuckerberg and Co., but it somewhat let the cat out of the bag that the software was on the way. Previously we had reported that decision makers within the Facebook organization, Zuckerberg included, had stated that there was no way that there would ever be a dedicated iPad app due to it not being a Read More

Facebook Updates iPhone App, Still No Tablet Optimization
Mini_discussion_bubble ReadWriteWeb - Posted Wed, 07 Sep 2011 18:00:00 UTC +00:00
Facebook has released a new version of its iPhone application that brings much of the new settings the platform has made in recent months for the Web to iOS. Yet, Facebook's new update does not offer support for the iPad and there is no word yet when the company might be releasing an optimized application for Apple's tablet. Facebook version 3.5 for iOS adds the ability to tag friends and places from posts, share external links from a Web view and a new design for profile and group walls posts. It also brings Facebook's new privacy control and sharing settings that the company unveiled recently. In terms of functionality, it is a significant change for the iPhone app, but there is still much that Facebook needs to do to create a truly groundbreaking mobile experience. Facebook also has a significant amount of bug fixes tied to the new update. It improves Read More
Facebook updates iPhone app to version 3.5; it’s snappier, but where’s the iPad version already?
Mini_discussion_bubble IntoMobile - Posted Wed, 07 Sep 2011 11:51:05 UTC +00:00
Facebook has just pushed out version 3.5 of their iPhone app to Apple’s App Store. The changelog says it’s added the ability to tag friends and places in posts, and to share sites you’re exploring in the web browser; note that they mean the web browser inside their app, not Safari. If you want to share things from a browser, may we suggest you try “Dolphin”. Back to Facebook, they’ve also tweaked the design of profiles and group walls, improved the sharing tool to add privacy controls, improved how quickly you get notifications, fixed a number of chat bugs, made it easier to select filters in News Feed, fixed a bug with the notifications bar disappearing, something that only recently started happening to us, fixed a number of photos bugs, and improved performance and stability overall. We’re still kind of bummed that they haven’t released an iPad version, but what’s most Read More

Facebook iPhone app gets big update, iPad version still MIA
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Wed, 07 Sep 2011 02:40:00 UTC +00:00
Facebook's iPhone app has been updated to version 3.5, and it's a pretty big update. The most notable change is to the Update Status area, which now allows you to tag friends, change sharing options, and add media/locations from the same screen. It streamlines the process of status updates quite a bit. The in-app browser also allows you to share links on Facebook much more easily than before. Still missing in action is the long-awaited iPad version. In fact, reports from around the web indicate that the iPad assets have been completely expunged from this version of Facebook's app, meaning that jailbreakers will no longer be able to enable them on their iPads. Hopefully the iPad version will see its official release soon. The list of changes and improvements in Facebook for iPhone 3.5 is below. Note that while Facebook claims to have fixed bugs related to photos, in my case Read More

Overall speed and stability has been enhanced. Despite various breadcrumbs being left in past versions of the app, the mythical iPad optimized version is still hiding in the depths of Objective-C. Facebook’s f8 developer conference takes place later this month, and it’s possible that the tablet build will make its debut then. How to switch from webOS to iPhone and iPad

By Rene Ritchie, Monday, Aug 22, 2011 | While HP may not have killed webOS when it cancelled webOS hardware, it certainly stuck the knife in it and twister really, really hard — and every webOS user, Palm loyalist, and PreCentral.net reader felt it. Some might choose to stick with it, to see if HP’s incompetence can somehow be turned around by a forward thinking, hardware genius licensor, but others might have finally had enough. If you’re one of those, the dedicated, the abused, we think Apple’s iOS and iPhone and iPad hardware might be the perfect thing to salve your wounds and restore your sense of gadget wonder. We’ve got 960×640 retina displays, easy-peasy FaceTime video calling, high quality 5 megapixel, back-illuminated camera that shoots 720p 30fps video, the massive update that’s iOS 5 just down the road. Hidden iPad Facebook App Found, Then Blocked by Facebook, Then Re-Hacked! [Update]
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone School - Posted Tue, 26 Jul 2011 11:21:25 UTC +00:00
Recently, someone figured out that if they changed just one little number in the code for the iPhone Facebook app, the iPad app would be revealed when installed on the iPad. You needed to be jailbroken so you could access the Facebook app files to change the code that marks the app for the iPhone or iPad. The app was a little buggy but the layout was pretty good. Nothing to blow your mind but better than the tiny little iPhone app. UPDATE: There is a hack in Cydia called FaceForward that re-enables the hack and doesn’t require the step by step hacks below! It probably won’t work again anytime soon but if they give back access here’s how to hack it: 1. You must be jailbroken. 2. Install iFile on your iPad so you can edit the Facebook application files. It’s free in Cydia. 3. Install the iPhone Facebook app Read More

Inclusive o chat. Ainda Read More

Read More

Facebook iPhone app users irate over buggy update
Mini_discussion_bubble CNET iPhone Atlas - Posted Fri, 22 Jul 2011 14:50:27 UTC +00:00
Many Facebook users who rely on the site's iPhone app are in an uproar over problems with the latest update to the application. Released June 29, the 3.4.3 update to Facebook's iPhone app was supposed to fix various bugs. But it seems to have done the opposite. Since its debut, the latest version has picked up almost 19,000 one-star reviews in Apple's App Store, with users complaining of crashes, freezes, slowness, a chat mode that doesn't work, and a host of other issues. In response to the glitches, Facebook had promised to release another update yesterday, according to the Financial Times and other sources. However, as of early Friday, the version was still stuck at 3.4.3. Launched in 2008, Facebook's iPhone app has proved popular and in the past garnered generally favorable reviews. But the new version is causing bad blood among the faithful. Some analysts say Facebook has been ignoring Read More

First, open up “Sunrise Sunset Lite“, a neat little application that uses my current location to calculate when dawn and dusk take place and then displays how many hours and minutes of sunlight I can expect to experience. Live in Finland as long as I have, and you’ll know why this is precious information. Next, open up “XE Currency” to see how the Euro and American Dollar are doing; it’s a basic way to gauge the health of both the American economy and the Euro Zone. After that it’s time to crack open “Facebook” and see which of my friends had a party last night and uploaded hilarious photos of their drunken adventures, and to read Read More
The Top 10 iPhone Apps I can’t live without

Over the years, I’ve owned more smartphones than I care to count. From BlackBerry to webOS to Android, I’ve had just about every platform in my pockets – often two or more at a time. However, there was one smartphone and platform that has remained with me regardless of the other devices I’ve carried – the iPhone. And really, the biggest reason for my devotion to the platform is its wealth of high-quality apps. When friends and family jump on the iPhone bandwagon, the first question they usually ask me is, “What apps should I get?” It really all depends on what you plan on using your phone for. Are you a photo junkie? Do you find yourself on social networking services more than you actually network in person with friends and acquaintances? 5 tips for a more social iPhone on Social Media Day
Mini_discussion_bubble TheAppleBlog - Posted Thu, 30 Jun 2011 15:28:49 UTC +00:00
Thursday is Social Media Day, so in honor of that, I’d like to offer a few tips about making your iPhone a more social device. It’d be easy to just say “register as a developer and install iOS 5,” since that brings Twitter integration, but here are some options that don’t cost $99 and involve using pre-release software on your primary device. This is actually a tip for your Mac, but it makes it much easier to share photos to Facebook and Flickr if you set up Events in iPhoto ’11 that you can dump content to in bulk. Using uploading apps on the iPhone itself usually works best if you’re only doing one photo at a time, and if you’re on vacation, that can get annoying very fast. Connecting your social accounts in iPhoto will make it much easier to create organized albums on Facebook and Flicker with only a Read More
Facebook for iPhone sneaks in UI changes in recent update

Facebook is preparing an iPad app
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Fri, 17 Jun 2011 04:00:00 UTC +00:00
According to the New York Times, Facebook is finally making an official iPad app. While Facebook's iPhone app has been in the App Store from day one, it's been a long, long wait for an iPad version of the popular social networking site. When asked about the possibility of an iPad app last November, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg reportedly said such an app wasn't in the works because "The iPad isn't mobile." It looks like that was an ephemeral "no" worthy of Steve Jobs. According to the Times, Facebook's iPad app has been in testing for nearly a year, and Zuckerberg himself has been closely involved in its development. People familiar with the app's development say its design is "slick" and well-optimized for the iPad's screen, and it includes photo/video uploading features tied directly to the iPad 2's built-in cameras. Thus far, iPad users unsatisfied with the way Facebook's site functions Read More

Has Apple Adjusted the App Store Charting Algorithms?
Mini_discussion_bubble Touch Arcade - Posted Mon, 18 Apr 2011 18:10:00 UTC +00:00
Careful watchers of the top charts on the App Store have noticed an interesting trend over the weekend with various apps inexplicably substantially changing position. Previously (and possibly still currently) Apple seemed to use the number of downloads an app had to form both the top free and paid lists. While this method might have made sense originally, gaming these download-only lists has turned into a remarkably profitable enterprise for those that have apps with a large install base which also have a way to push users into downloading other apps. If you've played a freemium game lately that offered some kind of benefit for downloading a completely different game, chances are the developer behind the title you're being incentivized into downloading paid the original developer a bucket full of money for that promotion. For both developers it's a win/win situation, one (often) gets a fat stack of cash while the Read More
Q&A: Facebook Photos by Way of iPad

Q. How can you post pictures to Facebook from the iPad’s Photos app? The “Choose File” button on Facebook is grayed out when I try to select a picture. A. Uploading photos to Facebook through the iPad’s Safari browser does not work like it does when using Facebook with a Web browser on a regular computer. The “Choose File” button is grayed out here because Facebook’s photo-uploader tool looks for files stored within traditional operating systems — and not on the iPad’s iOS system. There are, however, several ways to post pictures on the iPad directly to Facebook. One way is to use the familiar “Upload a Photo” option on the Facebook page — but instead of the Choose File button, click on the “Upload via email” link instead. Facebook then supplies an e-mail address for posting images from the iPad’s photo library by sending them as mail attachments. Skipping the Read More

Facebook app update lets you stalk and unfriend more easily

Facebook for iOS has been updated to version 3.4. This update brings expected improvements to the News Feed and notifications, but it also adds a few more useful features. We now have the ability to see where our friends are located in relation to where we are based on their check-in habits. We can also exercise our authority to unfriend anyone for any reason right from our device. Facebook stalking has never been easier. If there’s someone that loves to check-in to places, it’s now easier than ever to know exactly where they are in Google Maps. If you go to the Places icon, you’ll see an option labeled “Maps.” Assuming you have location-based services turned on, you’ll see pictures of your friends on the map. Touching on their pictures will bring up an option to see their location in Google Maps. From Google Maps, you can see exactly where they Read More

Facebook iPhone app adds unfriending, Places check-ins to events

The Facebook iPhone app has just received a substantial update and the 3.4 version allows you to unfriend on the go, as well as adds improvements to the location-based check-in service known as Places. The updated Facebook iPhone app now lets you ditch your pals on the go. As you can see in the video (video below), the unfriending process is pretty simple, as you merely have to click on a friend, hit the options menu, click on “unfriend” and then confirm it. It’s good that Zuckerberg is letting you anti-social on the go. For those of you who aren’t aware, Facebook Places is kind of like other check-in services like Foursquare and Gowalla but not as full featured. That’s changing a little bit with the 3.4 version. Facebook For iPhone Gets Event Check-Ins, Maps, And Unfriending

A couple weeks ago, after All Facebook spotted the ability to check-in to Facebook events, the social network confirmed to us that the feature would be launching shortly on the iPhone and their mobile-based touch site. Today, here it is. Version 3.4 of Facebook’s iPhone app actually has a few other nice updates as well. These include the ability to view your friends on a map from the Places area (and it uses Google Maps, not Bing Maps), an “improved” News Feed, an “improved” notifications UI, and the ability to unfriend someone from your phone, finally. But again, the big thing is the Facebook Event check-ins. Previously, you could only check-in via Facebook Places. That meant checking-in to various locations around cities just like you do on Foursquare, Gowalla, Loopt, and others. But now that you can check-in to events themselves, it opens a range of possibilities. You could run contests at Read More

There Were Huge Spikes in App Store Downloads Over the Holidays
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone Download Blog - Posted Wed, 29 Dec 2010 14:01:16 UTC +00:00
I’m sure it comes as no surprise that there were plenty of iOS devices under the tree this Christmas season. Most of you either gave, or saw a loved one receive a new iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone. Two very prominent applications in the App Store, Facebook and Tap Tap Revenge, have shared their download numbers from the holidays. The results are very impressive. Both Facebook and Tap Tap Revenge 4 have sat comfortably near the top of the App Store charts for quite some time, and TTR4 has been the number one app for several days. Both of the apps had huge download spikes this past weekend, giving us a good idea of how many iOS devices were opened for Christmas… The official Facebook app was downloaded over one million times on Christmas day alone. The app gained a total of 4.5 million new users for the month of December, going from 53 to Read More
Read More

Facebook iPhone App Gets A Meaningful Update

Although there are no completely new features to speak of, iPhone users will be happy to know that the Facebook 3.3.3 update has added a handful of meaningful improvements that include numerous bug fixes and a couple of UI enhancements. If you've been experiencing frequent crashes on the app, Facebook has included an instant remedy for that and a few other things, as well: - Improved reliability in chat and messages- Improved notifications UI- Fixed memory usage- Fixed some crashes- Walls you cannot post on no longer show the text field at the top- Restore ability to post as a page that you admin- Fixed group photos- Various Places improvements With some active monthly users of this wildly popular iOS app, it amazes me that Facebook is still lagging on launching an official HD version of their app for iPad. Facebook iPhone App Gets Privacy Update
Mini_discussion_bubble 148 Apps - Posted Mon, 15 Nov 2010 20:19:32 UTC +00:00
Facebook's latest iPhone update adds the ability to set account and privacy settings from within the app, in a sense. Facebook is one of the most popular apps on the iPhone, and as of today it’s getting an important privacy update. New in version 3.3.2 is the ability to change your privacy and account settings directly from the app itself. Previously, Facebook users would have to log into Facebook.com in their browser in order to change settings, but those practically prehistoric days are now far behind us. Actually, we shouldn’t get too excited just yet as the requirement to go into the browser hasn’t been removed, but rather reworked so it’s slightly less cumbersome. Now whenever users pull up their account they’ll be presented with the ability to tap a button to chance their privacy and security settings. Once tapped, the app redirects the user to their settings on Facebook.com, allowing Read More

So it’s good to see that at long last our trusty Facebook iPhone & iPad apps have been updated to include general and privacy settings, even if these features aren’t ‘in-app’ and just a browser redirect to your facebook settings page… another very slow and small step in the right direction. - Access account settings, privacy settings and Help Read More

Mark Zuckerberg took center stage at a Facebook Live event today, introducing several new Facebook features and an update to the Facebook iPhone app.  Rumors of a Facebook phone have been circulating for a while, but these turned out to be unfounded and the ‘mobile’ aspect of the event was in fact software based. There are three new additions to the app.  The first is an update of Places, their own location check-in service, where you’ll now be able to share pictures and posts related to your location with a selection of friends.  Next is Deals, which also links in with Places, allowing retailers to provide coupons and special offers to users nearby.  Finally, support for Facebook Groups has been added. Mr. Zuckerberg didn’t mention the iPad until he was asked about it during the Q&A, where he initially brushed off a question asking why there wasn’t a dedicated app with the Read More

TechCrunch titelt: “Twitter Just Killed Something Else: Their Own Website. Twitter For iPad Is That Good.” und beschreibt damit ‘verschiebbare Fensterelemente’, die man so noch in keiner populären iPad-Anwendung gesehen hat. Read More
Facebook iPhone app has 105m users?

Behind the Places That Facebook’s iPhone App Goes [Rant]

Continuing in my short lived residency here at iDB is my Friday rant that is usually based off a particular story in the week that rubbed me the wrong way. When we reported about Facebook adding GPS check in capabilities I knew my topic had been sealed. I will preface my outburst by informing you all that I am one of the few individuals I know who doesn’t have a profile in the world’s biggest social platform. I had one for less than a month and every lousy expectation I envisioned came to life. I have no bones to pick with users who have Facebook accounts. If I did I would have almost no one to talk to. My beef comes from the irresponsible undertones involved with the new Places feature embedded within the iPhone app. I have yet to hear a responsible or even reasonable explanation for desiring to participate Read More
Facebook for iPhone's new 'pull to refresh' looked a little familiar
Mini_discussion_bubble TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog - Posted Fri, 20 Aug 2010 12:00:00 UTC +00:00
While the new "Places" GPS check-in feature got most of the attention in Facebook for iPhone's latest update, a more subtle feature made its way into the app's interface: pull to refresh. Users of the official Twitter for iPhone app, previously known as Tweetie, will recognize this UI feature right away, because Tweetie creator Loren Brichter pioneered it and even filed a patent application for it. If you haven't had the chance to "pull to refresh," it takes advantage of the iPhone's "spring-loaded" page dragging behavior by refreshing content when you navigate to the top of a list and drag down. It's a neat UI trick, and once you use it a few times, you'll wonder why Apple didn't think of it. Facebook thought pull to refresh was a neat trick, too ... so neat that Facebook allegedly "appropriated" some open source code in order to intro the feature on its Read More

Facebook “Places” An Update in Their iPhone App
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone Download Blog - Posted Thu, 19 Aug 2010 14:57:49 UTC +00:00
Late Wednesday evening, Facebook added a location check-in feature to their hugely popular iPhone app. “Places” is the official title, and the social media kingpin is expected to be the eventual champion of such (GPS) location based utilities. Similar applications allow you to publicly announce your whereabouts, with Gowalla and Foursquare among the most popular. At least they were. The Washington Post is among the seemingly endless sources that report once a user “Checks In”, their location is broadcasted on both their personal and public feed. Security adjustments can be made within your profile to change just how known your want your movements to be. This seems certain to be a dagger to Foursquare and company, but Facebook’s approach doesn’t have the add-ons that other apps have. In Foursquare, you’re awarded various badges and even mayorships based on the frequency and uniqueness of your visits. Places seems to simply announce your position Read More

If you've ever wished Facebook would integrate some of the functionality of online check-in apps like Gowalla or Foursquare, you're in luck. The Facebook for iPhone app has been updated to version 3.2 and includes a new feature called "Places." Places is Facebook's stab at sharing locations with friends via GPS tagging; by tapping a "Check in" button and choosing a location near you, you'll be able to share your current location in your friends' news feeds. Your check-in will also show up on the location's Recent Activity page, assuming the location has a Facebook page. So, you can look forward to a lot of "Johnny Appleseed is at Target in University Heights" posts in your Facebook News Feed in the near future. Hooray? As you can see, the new Places area is front and center in the app. Clicking on it brings up a list of your friends who have recently checked in to various places. Clicking on those friends shows more details about the place they are at. Friend check-ins are sorted by those friends who are nearby and those who are elsewhere. Your stream will now show these Places check-ins as well. One thing that’s oddly tricky is actually checking-in yourself. I seriously cannot figure out how to do it right now. Lemme know what I’m missing. We Read More

With Zuckerberg Gone Android, Will Facebook Get Better Mobile Apps?
Mini_discussion_bubble Social Media News and Web Tips – Mashable – The Social Media Guide - Posted Wed, 28 Jul 2010 00:00:00 UTC +00:00
by Android users, rejoice! Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg will now be forced to feel your pain. The Android app for Facebook could be charitably described as less functional than the iPhone app. We’re sure there are good reasons for this, the greatest of which is likely market share. With iOS-running phones composing more than half of all smartphones, according to recent research, it’s in Facebook’s best interest to focus on this segment first. Still, for the ever-growing number of Android device users who also would like a little Facebook mobile action, the pared-down feature set of Facebook for Android makes us feel neglected — the redheaded stepchildren of Facebook mobile users. But now that “Zuck” is one of us, all that’s about to change… right? Historically, Facebook has made fairly few gestures toward the Android platform. It launched its official Android app last fall and rolled out an SDK Read More
Making the switch to Apple? Get the perfect setup

With the undeniable popularity and success of the iPhone 4 (despite the antenna debacle), iPad, and ever-increasing Mac sales, Apple is gaining customers faster than ever. If you're thinking about making the switch, this could be your perfect setup. Component one: iPhone 4 Now in its fourth iteration, Apple's iPhone has forever changed the mobile phone landscape by thrusting touch-screen technology to the tips of every tech geek's tongue and every consumer's wish list. Despite its early and somewhat overblown issues, iPhone 4 has had record-setting sales. With the exception of the complaints from a vocal minority regarding its antenna, critics love the iPhone 4. Think of iPhone 4 as your mobile communications component in this setup. With it, you can send text messages; make calls; send e-mail, instant messages, and tweets; update Facebook; and check in with Foursquare. Of course, you can play games and download other apps to the Read More

Facebook app for iPhone/iPod touch updated, now with iOS 4 support
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhoneFreak - Posted Thu, 01 Jul 2010 14:01:48 UTC +00:00
It looks like the Facebook app for the iPhone and iPod touch has been updated. This latest version is now at 3.1.4 and it has been updated for iOS 4. The updates include support for fast app switching, plus the icons are now high-resolution. Which should ultimately make the Facebook app look a little nicer on the iPhone 4. Additionally there was also support added for Korean and Russian languages as well as the fairly standard “minor bug fixes.” Except this time they did not mention specifically which bugs have been corrected. In the end this is a welcomed update, and the app remains available as a free download. Still, one can hope for a universal update that brings support for a proper iPad version is also in the works. Facebook app for iPhone updated, now at version 3.1.1 with Facebook Video support
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhoneFreak - Posted Mon, 21 Jun 2010 13:01:33 UTC +00:00
This weekend brought a long awaited update for the Facebook app on the iPhone, except while it has brought some worthwhile additions, given the timing of the update it seems to have left a few key items unmentioned. Lets begin with the good news, what the update has brought to the table. First and foremost, the new version is 3.1.3. That said, the app is now offering the ability to watch Facebook Videos, which for anyone that has use the app can most likely attest to — its about time. Facebook For iPhone Updated: No iOS 4 Support, No iPad Support, Broken UI
Mini_discussion_bubble TechCrunch - Posted Sun, 20 Jun 2010 01:24:23 UTC +00:00
There was a time when Facebook was at the forefront of mobile app development. Before there was even an App Store, the web app Facebook put out that was optimized for the iPhone was brilliant. Then the App Store came and with it was a great Facebook native app. Then came version 3 of the app, which was even better. Those days, sadly, are long over. Everyone already knows that the Facebook Android app sucks. The iPhone app, though, thanks largely to version 3, has remained a bright spot. But while some people are gushing today over the latest iPhone update (3.1.3, the first update in a while), I’m not one of those people. First of all, Facebook still has yet to release a native iPad app. This is pretty ridiculous considering that undoubtedly a high percentage of the millions of iPad owners have searched the App Store for a Facebook Read More

Facebook’s eroding privacy VS your growing mobility

Facebook is all fun and games on the iPhone; and why shouldn’t it be? you’ve got scores ways to disseminate your preferences and personal information to the web, all through the lens of ‘social networking’. It wasn’t always that way though, and in lieu of recent official decisions such as the Digital Economy Act, the sharing of personal information makes loads of sense, at least from a witch-hunting perspective. Facebook has had to erode its privacy policies to manage stay on top of the social world; if it hadn’t, it’d be snowed under by the next aggressive phishing trend. Just a friendly reminder to mind your own information whilst farming, mafia’ing, and facing around on the good – and now stodgily pervasive – social network agent. Read More

Facebook 3.1.2: Un nuovo aggiornamento disponibile | AppStore
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone iSpazio - Posted Thu, 14 Jan 2010 19:52:52 UTC +00:00
Read More
Facebook Pushes A Second Update in Under 24 Hours, Getting Special Treatment?
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone Alley - Posted Fri, 08 Jan 2010 01:35:12 UTC +00:00
As many of you may know, Facebook released a much-anticipated update [App Store, Free] for its iPhone app yesterday which included two major new features; push notifications and the ability to sync your iPhone contacts with Facebook. Now because many of my contacts don’t have photos, I turned on sync and toggled the “replace photos” option to off. Then disaster struck — well, kind of. Long story short, the app replaced all of my contacts’ photos without regard for that toggle switch. So to address the issue, Facebook released an update early this morning and everything works great now. But since when could developers release app updates in under 24 hours? So either Facebook is getting special treatment after the whole Joe Hewitt thing, or Apple’s managed to get app updates through the approval process faster than new app submissions. Now because I haven’t heard anything about other applications, I’m going to Read More

[app] Facebook-Update 3.1.1
January 6th, 2010 James Isabel Facebook iPhone App (Download FREE) isn’t a four rated app for nothing. Tonight, they unleashed yet another update that brings two pretty useful features: push notifications for just about anything AND contact syncing: Push Notifications is something that has been promised since the new iPhone OS feature was announced last year. Today, Facebook fulfills their promise and that’s just groovy! How To Facebook Push Notification: How To Facebook Contact Sync: What does syncing do? Well, sync the information from Facebook to and from your existing iPhone contacts. This includes links, phone numbers and even photos which you can enable/disable. Overall, this is a nice update. All I’m waiting for now are: Facebook videos support, remove friend and Farmville. No wait, scratch the last because that will never happen… I think You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. Read More

Facebook App Gets Contacts Syncing, Push Notifications
Mini_discussion_bubble iPhone Alley - Posted Wed, 06 Jan 2010 23:26:13 UTC +00:00
Facebook today released Facebook for iPhone [App Store, Free] v3.1 which adds two significant new features. The first is the ability to now sync your Facebook contacts with your iPhone contacts. The second is the ability to optionally receive push notifications when you have new messages, wall posts, friend requests, friend confirmations, photo tags, events, and comments. The contact sync is a major improvement to the older version. The app will now compare the contact information of your Facebook friends on your iPhone and match them to a Facebook user, pulling their profile picture and adding any information they have on their account that you don’t have in your Contacts list. Instead of overwriting the contact information you already have, it just adds to it based on the information from Facebook. Categories: News  Tags: galaga, years Read More

iPhone: If you're a Facebook user who also happens to own an iPhone, the social network's iPhone app is one of the best out there, and today it got a little better, adding push notifications and contact syncing to your Address Book. Before this version, you'd need to actively open up the Facebook app to get updated on your social happenings at Facebook—despite the fact that push notifications have been around for a while on the iPhone. The new push settings allow you to customize what events will warrant a notification, so you can keep notifications for new messages, for example, but skip notifications for every new comment. On the contact syncing front, the update allows you to add Facebook profile pictures and links to your existing iPhone contacts. It does not appear to create new contacts if you've got contacts on Facebook that aren't in your Address Book, but the Read More
Facebook iPhone App Update Brings Push Notifications, Contact Sync

It seems like forever ago that Facebook promised push notification support in version 3.1 of its incredibly popular iPhone app (iTunes link). Now it has arrived, just in time to usher in 2010. 3.1 brings the promised push notifications, and also the ability to sync your Facebook contacts with your iPhone’s Address Book for a more seamless communication experience. Right away upon opening the app, you’ll be asked if you want to enable push notifications, and you’ll also encounter a dialog box asking you about contact syncing. Turning syncing on will automatically add links to the Facebook profiles of all the people it finds in your address book, and you can also choose to replace the photos for those contacts with their Facebook profile pictures. As for the push notifications, they apply whenever someone sends you a new message, or whenever you receive a new wall post, friend request, friend confirmation, Read More
Facebook for iPhone 3.1 Adds Push Notifications, Address Book Syncing

by Up until now, the Facebook iPhone app [iTunes link] had everything but push notifications. The launch of version 3.1, however, remedies that ill. The other 3.1 biggie is the ability to sync your Facebook friends with your phone’s address book contacts — photos and all. When 3.0 came out this summer, there were some vocal complaints that the Facebook iPhone app didn’t do push notifications; it seems like basic functionality for any post-iPhone OS 3.0 application. Now when you start the app up after updating, you’ll be prompted asking if it’s okay to do notifications. Once you’ve said yes, it follows the standard iPhone notifications rules. You can customize what you’ll receive in settings. Right after you allow or deny notifications at the beginning, you’ll be asked if you want to sync with your address book. It will sync personal data, and change your contacts’ listed homepages to their Facebook Read More

By Arron Hirst on January 6th, 2010 Facebook releases their next major update to Facebook for iPhone, unveiling push notifications and contact sync. Two features many have been waiting for! This new update doesn't come without its quirks though. In August of last year, we saw Facebook for iPhone get a complete overhaul, with the firm introducing us to version 3.0. Courtesy of software developer Joe Hewitt, the update brought an entirely different UI to the table, a user interface which thought more specifically about the user in general, and the actions and features within Facebook. For the most part the update was well received, with the likes of Mashable calling it an “absolutely essential” upgrade for all users of the service. It certainly wasn’t ‘complete’ though. Far from it. In fact, there were many glaring omissions including the likes of built-in support for Apple’s Push Notification Service, contact sync with Read More

With version 3.1 of the widely-acclaimed iPhone application (which has just arrived) you can now receive push notifications as things happen on Facebook. That's not all, however, as the update also adds the option to sync Facebook friends to your iPhone address book - complete with photos: something already found in the otherwise bare-bones webOS Facebook application. Facebook for iPhone 3.1 is a free app and now available for download from the App Store - if you're looking to use the app straight away, you might want to re-download the application as it's currently being pushed out via iTunes' app update system. App Approval Process Becomes A Tiny Bit More Transparent
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Thu, 12 Nov 2009 14:58:10 UTC +00:00
Apple recently flipped a new switch in the Dev Center that allows developers to see where exactly their app is in the black hole that is the app approval process.  At this rate of improvement, we should have complete app approval process transparency by 2015. Now when iPhone and iPod touch app developers log into the Dev Center website, they will notice a new area for app status updates.  Instead of the usual average wait time, developers will be able to see where their app stands in the approval process.  Apps will be listed as waiting for review, in review, or ready for sale.  That’s pretty much it, however. Make no mistake, this is a tiny improvement over the previous system, but at least Apple has taken another step in the right direction.  This can only be viewed as good news, especially after we just recently lost the Facebook app developer, Joe Read More

Boxcar Reminds Us It’s Columbus Day With A Sale

Did you know today was Columbus Day?  I know I didn’t until I stumbled upon Boxcar‘s Columbus Day sale. Boxcar is a push-enabled Twitter, Facebook, and email app, at least in a sense.  It isn’t meant to replace any of your favorite apps, it just makes them more useful with Push Notifications.  Boxcar, when it was first released, was able to send you Push Notifications when you received mentions and direct messages via Twitter, but now it is even more powerful with the ability to send Push Notifications for Twitter trends and searches, Facebook notifications and messages, and emails. Boxcar now supports loads of different Twitter apps, including Twittelator, Tweetie, Tweetie 2, Twitterrific, Echofon, SimplyTweet, and many more.  And, of course, it supports the Facebook iPhone app, so no matter which service you choose to use, Boxcar should be able to open it. Boxcar is normally priced at $2.99, but today and Read More

Facebook For iPhone Turns 3.0

By – Joe Hewitt, author of the Facebook for iPhone app, announced recently on Twitter that version 3.0 was available for download.  The new "iFacebook" features landscape mode, see and RSVP upcoming events, and upload videos directly from a 3GS. Already there have been a flurry of bug reports, which Hewitt promises to address in release 3.0.1, adding "Apple limits us to 100 beta testers – you find a lot more bugs when a few million people use the app then when 100 people use it." Updated Facebook for iPhone app good enough to make me use Facebook
Mini_discussion_bubble IntoMobile - Posted Fri, 28 Aug 2009 01:21:29 UTC +00:00
Everyone and their grandmother is talking about the Facebook iPhone app update that just went live today. I don’t use Facebook enough (I should, but I don’t) to have cared all that much about what’s being described as the best thing to happen to the Facebook iPhone app since, well, the first Facebook iPhone app. But, after revisiting the Facebook app, I’ve changed my tune. It’s good. Really good. The Facebook iPhone update gives the iPhone app a completely new look and feel. For one, there’s a new “homescreen” interface that makes it stupid-easy to navigate through your Facebook profile. Hit the “grid” button at the top left and you’ll be taken to a simple homescreen grid with option to view your inbox, friend requests, photos and more. There’s also a bunch of new features – like landscape mode, video upload from an and the ability to make friend requests. Read Read More

While the various news outlets of the web may have gotten readers a bit too ecstatic when hyping out the iPhone 5, truth is, there was no iPhone 5 come Apple’s annual press conference. One source says that next year’s iPhone, unofficially and presumably dubbed iPhone 5, will be a It seems that Apple decided to go ahead and give the go to iOS 5.0.1 earlier than we had initially thought. Releasing today, the update brings along multiple new minor features, the most significant, however, being the highly anticipated iPhone 4S battery patch. You’ll first dive into Junk Jack without a clue of what you’re supposed to be doing – running around, tapping on random blocks. Then when night falls, the monsters devour you, and by this time you’re frustrated.

News! News! Read all about it! In case you haven’t seen the tweets or posts all over the web in the last hour, the Facebook 3.0 app (iTunes link) that everyone has been anxiously waiting for has now become available in the App Store. Everyone picks up their iPhone and starts poking the App Store icon… I did notice a quirk though, and not sure if it’s just localized to my iPhone or more widespread. Even though the 3.0 version was posted to the App Store, my iPhone was still showing no updates available. When I browsed to the App Store, it clearly showed the 3.0 version, but the Download button was greyed out and showed Installed, which I knew to be wrong. So it seemed that the App Store was mis-interpretting the version I actually had. I’m not sure if the glitch was on my end, or if the App Store Read More

Facebook 3.0 introduces new navigation, notifications, events, and more. The third major edition of Facebook for iPhone has just crept into the iTunes App Store. It's a huge update, with numerous advanced features that make Facebook more interactive than before and which bring the app as close to the desktop experience as it's ever been. Click it to see a screen equipped with a search bar on top, a notification alert area on the bottom, and a grid of nine activities you can perform in the middle. These include the news feed, your profile details, your message in-box, Facebook chat, friend requests, events, photo albums, and notes. App Store Insider: Three College Students Give iPhone App Development A Try

App Store Insider is back from its short hiatus to bring you a new perspective on all things App Store related.  Instead of the usual whining about the App Store being broken, and how developers are constantly given the run around from Apple when things don’t go as expected, I have decided to bring you the story of three college students trying to make their presence felt at the App Store. As the story goes, three normal guys, currently attending Valparaiso University, decided to pull together to try and create a successful application for the iPhone.  The idea wasn’t to only build and distribute an application, but to allow other people in their same general position to follow along and witness what it takes to accomplish this task from start to finish. We download and test a lot of iPhone apps, but here are the ones that have stood the test of time for us. Apple Hits 1 Billion App Store Downloads!
Mini_discussion_bubble IntoMobile - Posted Thu, 23 Apr 2009 23:24:28 UTC +00:00
Apple was expected to serve up their 1 Billionth (with a capital B) App Store download today, and lo and behold, Apple has announced that they’ve officially seen 1 billion iPhone/iPod Touch applications downloaded from their iTunes App Store! In less than a full year of existence, Apple and the iPhone have managed to make mobile applications as commonplace as an iTunes music purchase, and the App Store’s popularity continues to grow. The total tally of iPhone applications in the iPhone AppStore was estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 25,000 in March 2009. And, with thousands more iPhone applications hitting the AppStore on a monthly basis, Apple’s success with their integrated mobile application delivery model will likely continue. No wonder everyone and their grandmother are trying to launch mobile application stores of their own. For the record, it took Apple six whole months to reach the 500-million milestone. It's one less step to comment a picture now, which is appreciated. I prefer the lists in the top right corner where they were before but on the main menu works well also. I give the star off because I still hate how Facebook has its news feed now. It can be fixed, by making a list and adding everyone, but I'd still like the news feed the way it was a few months ago.

Can't login--hangs.
Horrible app
ibramo 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
HORRIBLE attempt by Facebook giant. No full profiles, no pics, no wall, and can only see inbox not sent msgs. The web app, with the features it still lacks, is far superior. Feable attempt by a billion dollar company

Update vastly improved this app!
illusi0nz 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
The first version of this app left a lot to be desired, this update was needed and had delivered.
Great!
Chronologist 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
I liked 1.0 enough, but the lack of wall viewing was enough for me to not use it. There's still room for more, but the quick update and added features in less than a week's time is very impressive. Personally, wall stuff was all I needed, so I'm content with the app now. Anything else will just be gravy.
Decent
Hollanddd 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
It's ok. It lacks the option to upload photos from your phone. It needs a lot of work and I disapointed in Facebook. Shame on you.
Woohoo yeah!
marcusdavajon 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Just wanna say that the new updated version is magnanimous! It's exactly what I was looking/waiting for from facebook. I love this app!!!!
Fix your login!
Rbjello 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
Cannot login and just bought my iPhone 2 days ago. Brother has the same problem. Please fix!
Hopefully Some Improvements Coming
sftl99 3.0 stars Version: 1.0
Currently the MySpace application is better in my opinion. Pros: Chat, it's fast, it's native. Cons: Can't view friend's picture albums, can't upload pictures from app as you can via MySpace, can't view entire friend profile (seems like a nobrainer to include this) like about me, interests, books, etc.
What a downgrade...
ud3323 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
So let me get this straight, you can't post to the wall of your friends, you don't even get a full profile of your friends, no photos, the home page is just a list of your friend's status updates and not the global mini feed... sounds like the people at Facebook just put out something that is obviously unfinished just to release it on launch. I guess their programmers had a hard time with Objective-C? Any and all SERIOUS Facebook users will still use the web app for now.
Deserves better
Taba Choy 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Just being able to view photo albums of friends makes this priceless. I was at a 10 yr highschool reunion and it came in handy for catching up on friends who didn't show up. I was able to show people my buddy's twin babies...you can't beat mobile facebook! I chat all the time with this app too.
Login issues
User29 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
This application is not functioning, there are numerous reports for login failures. The login page freezes and that's what you get!
finally
Khanivore 5.0 stars Version: 1.1

handy G 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
This is my first week with facebook on my mac. Cannot login on iphone ever. I still have yet to experience the app even 1x. Reset phone, deleted app, re-downloaded. Still no go.
web app is much better
ricva 1.0 stars Version: 1.0
unless there's an update coming really soon, i'm going to continue to use the web app. come on, you can't read full profiles, or write or read wall postings or view photo albums? what's so great about this?
(no star really…) Wouldn't know...
Jeddy4 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
...about any of the bug fixes or changes. Can't login like an increasing amount of folks. Useless.
Doesn't work

chramiji 1.0 stars Version: 2.0
WELL, this app certainly needs some fixin', i tried reinstalling it about 4 times, connect to wifi, 3g, all i get up to is log in information, enter my user name and password... then its "logging in" for 8 hours still couldnt log in, but the funny thing is if i start hitting the keyboard, it will tell me the user name/password is incorrect.
Everything We Can Hope For
kdinh 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
With the new 1.1 update, the Facebook app has everything essential to Facebook and organized in an easy-to-use manner. We can now disregard all the hatred for the first release of the app that lacked the feature to write on walls, for it has finally been implemented and I cannot be happier using the app.
Be sure to update
face-to-face 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
After updating the app to the latest version, I find it to be much more capable in mirroring the Facebook online experience. Before all I could do was see people's mini-feeds, abbreviated profile, check mail and chat. With the update, I can still do all of that as well as see and write on their wall, view pictures, poke and send a message. All-in-all a much needed update and great app!
They have perfected this app
Dimaggio007 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
Upgrade is amazing - pics, walls, everything is here. Friends list looks just like iphone contact list!
Awesome app
Lev Naginsky 5.0 stars Version: 1.1
They just put in the update so now you can see more pictures and actually write and your friends walls. I love that apple recognizes that there are still bugs in the system and they work hard to fix these things so that we can enjoy them. Great job apple and facebook.
Update makes my top apps.
I_<3_music 4.0 stars Version: 1.1
The new update has delivered exactly what userss wanted, wall and photos. It seems great there are only a few reasons why I rated it a 4 instead of 5 star app.
Sick with the iPhone website
JamesFrank1 2.0 stars Version: 1.0
This app definitely needs more work.
