Apple released an iTunes Movie Trailers app last year, so you could watch movie trailers from iTunes directly on your iPad, and that app has just been updated with the ability to stream movies at a higher resolution (probably around 1080p, since that's the usual format for these things, but we can't be sure). This way, they'll look even better on the Retina Display of your new iPad. You can go right now, and watch movie trailers like The Avengers, Prometheus, and more over there for free.

By Leanna Lofte, Saturday, Oct 22, 2011 | Every week a few of us from team TiPb will bring you our current favorite, most fun and useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch related, they’re fair game. To see what we picked, and to tell us your pick, follow on after the break! This week’s pick was an easy one. Instapaper has long been one of my favorite apps, and I’ve been using it for years. Developer Marco Arment has released an incredible update to the app this week, one of the biggest (if not the biggest) in the lifespan of the app. Instapaper 4.0 has so many new features, I’m not even going to list them here (plus, if my geek-Cylon intuition is right, a certain other

Welcome to our weekly installment of Picks of the Week at iSource where we provide our expanded coverage of Apple accessories and applications Here we will promote our favorite iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac and Apple TV related items, as well as bring you occasional tips and tricks. Hopefully many of our favorite items will also be of interest to you. Please feel free to comment on our selections, and suggest picks of your own. Check out this week’s picks after the break I’ve been searching for that single camera app that I could use to replace the multitude of camera apps I already have, and I think I found it. It’s called King Camera. All my other camera apps worked fine, and I really appreciate the developers who created them, but most of them missed one thing–they didn’t do everything. Then I found King Camera. This app has it all. Here’s

Representatives of the iPhone and iPad maker have been meeting with studios to finalize deals that would allow consumers to buy movies through iTunes and access them on any Apple device, according to knowledgeable people who requested anonymity because the discussions are private. The service is expected to launch in

by For social media fans, the tight integration between iOS 5 and Twitter is one of the best reasons to upgrade. We touched on this integration in our in-depth iOS 5 review but we wanted to spend some additional time looking at how it works and what it means for users. Since iOS 5 was released Wednesday afternoon, a number of additional apps in the App Store have been released with native support for Twitter. iOS 5 shipped supporting Twitter from the Photos app, Maps, YouTube and Safari. Since then, The New York Times app for iOS and the new iTunes Movie Trailers [iTunes link] app have both appeared with native Twitter support. One of the new features for developers in the iOS 5 SDK is support for the Twitter API. Apple has made it easy for developers to add Twitter support to their apps and to allow users to easily

Just when you thought the onslaught of software releases was finished for the day, Apple drops another new title. iTunes Movie Trailers for iOS is a new app that contains hundreds of movie trailers and other film related information. Much like other apps in the category, such as Flixster, Apple’s new Trailers software gives you access to all kinds of data regarding new movies. You can watch previews, read overviews, and discover showtimes for new releases… All of the trailers (at least the ones I’ve tested so far) display in HD, and look wonderful on a big screen TV via AirPlay. You can browse movies by genre, release date, and box office success. You can even do a broad search of the entire catalog. Just like the aforementioned Flixster app, Trailers gives you access to Rotten Tomatoes movie reviews. The service compiles reviews from hundreds of different film critics from around

Along with major OS updates for both OS X Lion and iOS, Apple released a veritable boatload of software today in the form of new apps and updates to old favorites. Here’s a quick look at what’s new, what’s changed, and what we think about what’s new and changed. Apple put it front and center at its “Let’s talk iPhone” event at the beginning of October, and now the Cards app is officially here and open for all to use. As we covered in detail in a previous post, Cards lets you create and send custom letterpress cards to friends and loved ones, with a fee of $2.99 each in the U.S., or $4.99 worldwide. The app looks good and works well, and once our first greeting arrives, we’ll let you know how it turns out. Not content to just provide the location of all your own devices on a map,
