December 14th, 2009 Daniel Silva Yep it’s sale time again for Konami. Yes, all their games are on sale for $0.99. Crazy! I know right?! How many kart racers are in store? And of those how many are playable online? Konami attempts to answer both those questions with Krazy Kart. It’s the closest thing we’ll get to Mario Kart, but does it stand on its own? The multiplayer is still somewhat broken, but it’s no brainer at this price. Though it has received criticisms for having a gameplay NOTHING like the console version, MGS Touch remains to be the most sophisticated games we’ve ever played. It utilizes great graphics and rolls it with touch controls that just works for the device. Forget your knowledge about the console versions, and you’ll be fine. Full Games List: This is as cheap as these games can go, so if you’re interested in any of Read More

Konami's iPhone games on sale for 99 cents
Mini_discussion_bubble CNET iPhone Atlas - Posted Wed, 18 Nov 2009 15:02:00 UTC +00:00
Save up to $5 on each game in Konami's impressive iPhone catalog. I once wrote for an app review site where the guidelines insisted price shouldn't factor into a game's rating. Nuts, right? That's like saying as long as you like the car you're test-driving, forget about the sticker. For a cheapskate like me, price absolutely matters, which is why I'm happy to see every game in Konami's iPhone catalog temporarily on sale for 99 cents each. That includes Metal Gear Solid Touch, which is widely regarded as one of the top iPhone shooters. It normally sells for $5.99 (and was $7.99 at launch). Other 99-cent titles include: These prices are good until Saturday (November 21), at which point they'll return to their previous levels: anywhere from $2 to $6. Most of Konami's games have earned pretty high ratings from users, but there are some--like Frogger and Power Pros--that I just Read More

While the various news outlets of the web may have gotten readers a bit too ecstatic when hyping out the iPhone 5, truth is, there was no iPhone 5 come Apple’s annual press conference. One source says that next year’s iPhone, unofficially and presumably dubbed iPhone 5, will be a It seems that Apple decided to go ahead and give the go to iOS 5.0.1 earlier than we had initially thought. Releasing today, the update brings along multiple new minor features, the most significant, however, being the highly anticipated iPhone 4S battery patch. You’ll first dive into Junk Jack without a clue of what you’re supposed to be doing – running around, tapping on random blocks. Then when night falls, the monsters devour you, and by this time you’re frustrated. Even with the gorgeous pixel aesthetic, innovative controls that no other developer has I think that this product is truly great, Read More
All Of Konami’s Games Are On Sale For $.99

All of Konami’s iPhone and iPod touch games are on sale for $.99 for an unspecified amount of time.  Yes, every single one.  Even the games that were formerly priced at $4.99 and above are only $.99. Konami’s iPhone and iPod touch games collection could be considered hit and miss, but there are certainly a few gems on this list. Frogger has been priced at $.99 for a while now, but it’s still worth mentioning, and the same goes for Field Prowlers Police Rush. It’s also worth mentioning that it appears these sale prices only apply to the U.S. App Store. Read More

Konami is having a massive sale discounting every single one of their games to $0.99. No matter what your take on the games, there's definitely deals to be had here. There's no indication how long the sales will last, but it's safe to say that despite any shortcomings every game listed above is worth at least $0.99. ■ Flee from the Farmer, at all costs. Konami’s Silent Scope And Power Pros Touch On Sale For $.99
Mini_discussion_bubble Apple iPhone Apps - Posted Thu, 27 Aug 2009 22:22:34 UTC +00:00
Late last week, Konami’s classic arcade title, Frogger, finally went on sale for $.99 after sitting in the App Store for over 10 months without a sale of any kind.  The strategy has paid off, however, as Frogger has climbed all the way into the top five paid apps in the App Store.  Konami has decided to employ this now successful strategy with a couple of their other titles, Silent Scope and Power Pros Touch. Silent Scope is another one of Konami’s classic arcade games.  It is an on-rails tap-to-shoot game that features nine stages and two gameplay modes.  To aim, simply tap and drag your finger across the screen until you are on your target, and then tap once again to fire.  You can also double tap to zoom in with your sniper rifle.  Silent Scope was first launched in April at the price of $5.99, a price that hasn’t Read More

Aug 04 iPhone News   7:59 am      (0) Comments One of the cult video game hits of the 80′s was a game called Silent Scope …Basically a shooter on rails, this game relied heavily on 3D graphics and a unique fake-rifle shackled to the game cabinet. This combination proved to be a winning combination as it quickly became an arcade hit. In any case, the story features you as a sniper and involves you trying to rescue the President and his family from the hands of terrorists. Other than that, the game is pretty straightforward, it features three modes: Story, Shooting Range and Time Attack. The game spans across 9 stages and 2 gameplay modes: Arcade & Training. Controls are easy to handle and incorporate the multi-touch technology very well. It’s all very intuitive: Tap & slide to move the gun sights Tap to shoot Double tap to turn scope on Read More

It cost me much more than 5!!!!!!!!
foolwy 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I hate you guys!!!
Okay
Akira Houjou 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
This game packs a tons of fun. 3 bucks seems ideal to me. Its just system runs slow its really hard to aim but still its the best sniping game Hey everybody!!! Before you play the game, go to setting and change scope more to B instead of A because that will change way you shoot, now you just have to double tap to enemy and it will scope it there for you! You better do this or cant play the game but needs update for speeding things up
Please fix control scheme
Skantz 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
The game is good but the current control scheme is horrible!!! At leastvallow for some adjustment of sensitivity because the current drag to aim isn't supportive of gameplay that involves being in a moving helicopter for example. Someone comment about the acclerometer as a control scheme would be good, or at least a shoot button because the tap to double tap etc screws up controls as well. I'm using a 3gs for reference so it's not an issue of ram, etc.
Terrible
Bubba316Y2J 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
The controls make the game unplayable. Sure it looks just like the arcade game, but it does not play well at all on the iPhone. Everything moves way too much for you to shoot them. Avoid this game.
No controls
Spy 101 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
The controls are horrible. I though konami would put a little thought into the title, but it appears there was no quality control when this was released. This will definitely make me think twice prior to purchasing another Konami title.
Uggg
dorcino 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
Does not respond well to clicks on screen to shoot, slows down on the GS, and just hard to see under scope since your finger covers the screen. Great arcade game, very bad port.
Horrible Controls
netsyd 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
I've lost count of how much money I've spent on this game in the arcades. For years it was the one game I would play every time I found myself at Dave & Busters. The problem with this game on the iPhone is all in the controls. The game in all other aspects stays true to the arcade version, but the zoom in and slow panning of the scope just destroys all chances of this being playable. After the first round, trying to headhot the guy in the Harrier in the arcade isn't too difficult, but doing it on the iPhone is nothing short of a nightmare... and it doesn't get any better through the rest of the game.
Game Control
Miami jewelry guy 2.0 stars Version: 1.0.1
The game control is horrible. The second you try to move the scope while it's zoomed in and aimed, you lose all speed. It's just not realistic. Obviously I'm no sniper, but I expected a little more than what I got.
Controls need to be patched
Nbinney 1.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Move the cursor with your finger, double tap to zoom in. This isn't a problem except it zooms in where you tapped, not where the cursor is. Until this is fixed, the game is impossible to play during boss fights. Save your money and get the Metal Gear app instead.
DEVELOPERS PLEASE READ
Blaise37 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Good idea bringing this classic arcade game to the iphone and ipod touch. I always play it at the theater i go to. I like how it is exactly like the actual game. The only major issue though are the CONTROLS. Its almost impossible to shoot at first glance and even worse when you are in a car. It takes like a minute to shoot one guy. Please fix this. Maybe use the accelometer. Other than this huge problem, nice job!
Almost a 5
Peoples72 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Great graphics and sound! Good job Konami! The zoom feature could be more intuitive though. How about at least pinch & spread zoom in update? Or zooming with a virtual button?
Controls need to be patched
Nbinney 3.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Move the cursor with your finger, double tap to zoom in. This isn't a problem except it zooms I'm where you tapped, not where the cursor is.
Good port but needs more precise control, and fixes
Jeff Tyrrill 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
+Great and faithful port of the arcade game
AWESOME SNIPER APP
Ciarab1969 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
I love this!! I own all the sniper apps and this one really feels true to life. I actually feel like Im really there!! But one thing: Enough with the CALM DOWN stuff that the boss is yammering about. I take ONE SHOT and I'm hearing "Calm Down!" don't tell me to calm down!! Can u take that out of the game, it's so aggrevating!!! Otherwise, AWESOME App!!!
The BEST Game in the iTunes App Store!
punkin puss and mushmouse 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Appears and plays like a 3.0 game in that the graphics and sound are so life-like. So real and intense you will NOT put this one down for several hours. The ONLY Five Star rating I've awarded any game out of dozens I've reviewed. A true gem and keeper. Front Page worthy!
Pretty good
Rayhee 4.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Reminds me of the old arcade days only prob is some lag when shooting
Well done!
sashicon 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This is the best sniping app in the store. It is everything shooter, and time crisis wasn't. With all the big timers like gameloft, EA, Namco, and more recently your MGST, tanking for the most part. It's nice to see konami stepping up it's game, and not taking the idevice for chum. The graphics are right outta the 90's arcades, with crisp clear detail, and corny GI-joe like American voice overs that make the game even more fun to play, the controls are perffect, tons of content makes up for that big chunk of ram the game takes up, with training modes, gun ranges, time attack, story, and arcade mode. You can fiddle with almost every aspect of the game from difficulty to..."sshh don't know how it got through approval" if you want blood or a selection of other colors to disburst when you hit the enemy with your cold bullits of justice. And most important you can play your own music "say whhaat!" yes somthing is seems most of the big time devs think they know better than us. The game is a great buy, and if your in to sniper games yet have felt let down by the ones out so far, this will be a breath of fresh air. Thank you very kindly for your silent scope Konami, you all did a great job, and I am looking forward to what you do in the future, think you could do something original? Not to say I don't want to see more ports or remakes, but how about an exclusive, none of the big timers has attempted that yet. And does anyone up there know the buena vista devs, we all want a lumines port, yes I'm speaking for everyone that owns a idevice, we all want it, everybodys talking about it, well maybe not everybody, but you know what I mean,Me. I know this question would better be directed to EA or Someone more local but I just had to get it off my, I mean our chest. Thanks again for my music, for the hackless that's sleeping it in after the loading screen, the game it self does not give you the option. Currently playing:7 Days, igem, Hill billy "updated", GOF, Puzzle Prism, Elemental Monster, 3D spinball, reflexion, and idrac "still" Waiting for: NFS, Tankz,S.C.U.D, Star Defense, Hardgore, Caster,io,CS one,3.0, with livefire with or shortly after , passed on AC till I see some gameplay footage.
Best sniper game in the app store
Geoff_12889 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
This is the best sniper game in the app store. Even better than my previous favorite Shooter. The controls are well thought out for the iPhone/iPod Touch. If you enjoyed the arcade Silent Scope, you'll love this one.
Great!!
otakuzod (Ty Wilkins) 5.0 stars Version: 1.0.0
Takes a little getting used to, but a very faithful recreation of the original arcade game, even without the gun. The price point is superb as well. Bottom line, if you liked this in the arcade, you will like it on you iPhone.
