"It just works. Period. It does exactly what it advertises which is absolutely amazing."

What some of our users are saying:
"I was baffled at how well it worked. Almost every day I used it, I felt refreshed when the alarm started." - Christina Karlsson
"Waking up at the right time is an amazing thing. I couldn't believe the difference it made!" - Michael Palka
"It felt like I was already awake and the iPhone just let me know it." - Anders Hejdenberg
-------------------------------------------------------
* Sleep Cycle monitors your movement during sleep using the extremely sensitive accelerometer in your iPhone.
* Sleep Cycle then finds the optimal time to wake you up during a 30 minute window that ends at your set alarm time.
* Look at the screenshots for recommended iPhone placement.
-------------------------------------------------------
As you sleep you go through different phases that range from deep sleep to light sleep. The phase you are in when your alarm clock goes off is a critical factor regarding how tired you will feel when you wake up.
Since you move differently in bed during the different phases, Sleep Cycle uses the accelerometer in your iPhone to monitor your movement to determine which sleep phase you are in.
Sleep Cycle then wakes you in your lightest sleep phase.
Sleep Cycle was developed using proven sleep science and over a year of testing.
Sleep Cycle also saves your sleep data and displays a detailed sleep graph and sleep statistics for every night you use it.
Remember! Do NOT lock your phone when going to bed. Sleep Cycle automatically shuts down your screen and puts the phone into a power saving mode. If you lock your phone Sleep Cycle will not sense your movement and will then only be able to wake you at the end of the alarm time.
PLEASE NOTE: When Sleep Cycle is placed on a TABLE or FLOOR during the entire night it becomes extremely sensitive to movement. On some devices noise from the accelerometer can then be interpreted as movement and a random-looking graph is created. As long as you place Sleep Cycle according to the instructions it will correctly interpret movement and create correct graphs.
-------------------------------------------------------
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to charge your phone by your bed
Ability to place your iPhone according to the instructions (see screenshots)

By Bonnie Eisenman on September 12th, 2011 As a college student, my iPod goes with me everywhere. Here are some apps sure to help any college student with their busy life. From textbook apps to alarm clocks, iPhones and iPads can change the way students live and study. iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads abound on college campuses, and for good reason. iOS devices are great anyway, but for college students, there are myriad ways in which an iOS device can make life easier. When it comes to studying textbooks, taking notes in lecture, or even waking up to start the day—chances are there’s an app for that. There are far too many useful apps to count, but here I’d like to list just a few apps sure to help college students manage their busy lives. Textbooks Paper textbooks may still be king, but e-readers are increasingly creating a presence in college

More people are shunning the traditional alarm clock by their bedside in favor of their mobile phone, especially when combined with a cool recharging dock to ensure your phone doesn’t run out of battery at the wrong time! While iOS has its own built-in alarm feature, the App Store is full of alarm apps, many of which offer interesting additional features or try to make the act of waking up far less irritating than it has to be! We’ve gathered ten such apps here, so take a look through and click their title to go straight to the App Store in order to download them. WakeApp will wake you up during your light sleep phase, so you feel more relaxed and ready for the day. The app also monitors your sleep patterns and body movements, then provides data on how long it took you to fall asleep and other statistics. Your

We all cherish sleep and thanks to it’s necessity, we spend a lot of time doing it. Mobile phones have made it really simple to replace our regular alarm clock but they really haven’t pushed the boundaries of how they can help us until now. Sleep Cycle is an app that makes plenty of large claims about what it is able to accomplish. The app states it is able to track your sleeping habits and wake you up at the ideal time so you feel refreshed. Curious, I had to try it out. I’ve been using it for about a week now and I have a few insights. The app uses your phone’s accelerometer to track movement as you sleep. It then graphs that movement for you and if you have set an alarm, it will determine an ideal time to quietly wake you. While I can say that the graphs

Remember Sleep Cycle for iPhone? You know, the iPhone app that helps you keep track and monitor your sleeping patterns? I’ve been using it for quite awhile now, and I’ve got to say, the app is still slick. However, in an effort to make the app slicker than ever, an update has been released, and it’s packed-full of goodness. Here’s a quick list of key features in the update: The list of features and enhancements goes on for a little while yet. I can honestly say this is a ‘must have’ update for anyone already running Sleep Cycle on their iPhone. After a month or so of using the darn thing, I’ve been able to come to the following conclusions: Of course, the update is free for anyone already running the app (hit up the ‘updates’ tab in the App Store to find the latest version), but if you’d like to

Recently, a colleague of mine tipped me off to a new sleeping aid for iOS. Well, not an aid exactly, but an app that measures your sleeping patterns, and analyzes the data to determine the best window of time for you to wake up. Called ‘Sleep Cycle‘, so far I’m having nothing but success, and good dreams. The way it works is actually quite simple. After you pop open the app and set the alarm time, you plug your iPhone in and set it display DOWN on the bed next to your pillow. What the app does from this position is use the built-in accelerometer to monitor your movement while you sleep. By monitoring your movement, it determines which ‘sleep phase’ you’re in… and in doing this, it picks the best time to wake you up, within a 30 minute window of the alarm time you initially set. So, you may

Last night, I fell into a deep sleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow. I drifted in and out of dreams until around 5 a.m., before slipping back into a heavy slumber around sunrise and woke up two hours later. In total, I slept around four and a half hours — less than my average of five hours for the last couple of days. I happen to know all this because of a new iPhone application I’ve been using that measures sleep activity throughout the night. The app, SleepCycle, uses the phone’s internal accelerometer to track body movement and analyze sleep patterns. You put the phone near your pillow and activate the app. The software is designed to work as if it were a bio-alarm clock. You pick the time you’d like to be woken, say, 7 a.m. The app then monitors for the gentle muscle activity around

These are actually my favorite apps of February but I’m a little late… [iTunes link] – This is a free app that lets you download a host of files to your iPhone like JPG, GIF, HTML, MP3, MP4, 3GP and more. But, what I like to use it for is downloading YouTube videos for later viewing at full resolution. However, you can only watch the video from within the app and there’s no way to get the video off your iPhone. Obviously, Apple wouldn’t have an app that would pirate YouTube videos. Since YouTube videos don’t stream on 3G at full resolution on the iPhone, this helps to watch your videos more cleanly. There doesn’t seem to be a size limit when downloading on 3G. Which location-based app has more than double the amount of users of Foursquare and Gowalla combined and is free? If the answer is [iTunes link] you’d

Great app for only $1
Robyn McLean
Version: 3.0.1
I've used it everyday for a year and it's really cool seeing how I sleep
Interesting gimmick
Timothy Lee
Version: 3.0.1
Makes use of the iPhone's accelerometer to determine whether you're sleeping or awake. If you move a lot while you sleep it'll most always be off.
Love it
Miss_Meliss
Version: 3.0.1
I recommend it to all my friends. Used it every night for the past month and I have never felt more well rested. The graphs are not fake. I just wish it could handle incoming calls and texts.
Very cool app!

Version: 3.0.1
I love collecting data even when I'm asleep!
Total scam
Chef Jared
Version: 3.0.1
This app claims to Observe your movements while you sleep. The less you move the deeper your sleep. I put mine on a dresser for a week instead of on my bed and to my surprise I received the same reading as if it was right next to me. It is just a glorified alarm clock. If you have the app try putting it on the dresser or nightstand and notice how the reading doesn't change much or at all.
LOVE THIS APP!!
SBBIZZLE
Version: 3.0.1
Amazing how this works, fascinating!! So cool to see how you sleep, almost like your own personal sleep study every night. It detected movement from me in my sleep when I received a text message in the middle of the night but didn't actually wake completely up. When my daughter woke me up in the middle of the night and crawled into bed with me, I could totally see the difference in how I was sleeping on the chart (my kid tosses and turns, kicking me in her sleep).

It works... It really works! No more sleepy morning!!
Pretty good!

Version: 3.0.1
Pretty cool app so far. I think the phone doesn't always register everything that happens though because I had a night where I was up multiple times during the night and the stats still showed I was sleeping! I also think having my spouse in bed (plus a dog and a cat in the mix sometimes too) is affecting the results as well. If there were ever a way to correct those issues, it would be incredible. But it's a really cool app with the sleep timer and I plan on using it every night, even though the stats and wake up isn't always perfect.
The Dude abides
Geoff Lebowski
Version: 3.0.1
The Dude sometimes needs to be eased out of slumber much like a bear an the wild. I recommend choosing some far-out whale calls as your alarm. That or some Creedence. Overall this app really ties my phone together.
Works great! Great tunes!
Ashtul
Version: 1.2
I have been using it for almost a month and I just love it. The developers say they work on next edition which will have statistics about sleeping paterns, I'll defiantly check it out.
I Like It! - Following Up and I still Like It!
Reality_Bytes
Version: 1.2
This has replaced my old buzz type alarm clock. I like the fact that it begins to wake you up before the set time for a built in snooze if you need it. All you have to do is leave it alone and go back to sleep in about 9-10 minutes the alarm will sound again. So there is no need for a snooze button like one user described. The only con I have is that the AM/PM is too sensitive on the wheel and moves even if you are trying to set the hour. How about a simple flat button or check box interface to set the AM or PM and remove it from the wheel. Otherwise it's a great app and does what it says it will do. I would also like to see some data on my sleep patterns so that I could know just how much sleep I need to feel refreshed. If you add the data, please let us be able to accumulate data over long periods of time and export it to viable formats. Don't forget back-up options.
WOW
CVicious
Version: 1.2
This actually works. I am no longer waking up tired. I highly recommend this app to all the heavy sleepers out there.
Really works!
MissusDakey
Version: 1.2
I read a review of a watch gadget in David Pogue's column that also measures sleep cycles and wakes you up at the optimum time, but it cost over $200. So I didn't have high expectations for a $1 app. But I've been using it for almost a week, and I really do wake up with more energy! Best of all when I use this, I am really awake and don't go back to sleep, so no fear of oversleeping. Works great for short naps as well!
This is really nice!
Wilson823
Version: 1.2
The soothing tones which are much better then the iphone alarm tones on this alarm are already worth the .99 cent price, but the effectiveness of the app waking you at an optimal time is very impressive, and I really look forward to the update which will include charts showing your sleep cycle throughout the night.
Sleep cycle is great
Chris04812
Version: 1.1
This is a great app I us it every night and I love it. This is the best alarm clock ever. If ur thinking about getting this app get it u will love it
Don't hesitate, get it.

Version: 1.1
I like this app and the calibrate option, but I wish it had the capability to see a graph of your nights rest and how many hours you were asleep.
Almost Perfect!!!! :)
Madmoses
Version: 1.1
The app does work great. It woke me up twenty min early and even though I didn't get out of bed I could check my emails from the iPhone and read the news and chill before I had to start moving.
The smooth alarm feature is the nicest way to wake up. I think they shoul add more sound and a graph depicting your sleep behavior. This would ensure a five star rating and help prove it's method for waking me up when it did.
Overall great product... Just needs a few more features to be the best alarm system in the Apple App store.
A must have app!
inspron.
Version: 1.1
I wont go to sleep without this app anymore! I expected a total gimmick, instead I got a night sleep night after night.
This is awesome!!!

Version: 1.1
I thought I'd download it and see what it's about. I set my alarm for 7:35am and it woke me at 7:05am. It had a beautiful sound unlike most alarm clocks and I woke up alert and rested!!! I am usually groggy every morning!!! I don't know how it did it, but I'm satisfied with this app. 4 stars!!
Amazing Application!
Hsingh79
Version: 1.1
Great investment for people who hate waking up in the morning! I can't believe it actually works and I literally do wake up feeling alive. It has been waking me up right away from the day I purchased it.
Nice!
Russo9
Version: 1.1
Worked perfectly! It woke me up in a light sleep 20 minutes before my alarm ... I felt great. I was just too stubborn to get up! I should have though! 5 stars ... But wish it had a more "annoying" alarm ... The soothing one may make someone go back to sleep ... I'll recomend to anyone ...
Nice gentle alarm
Minhala
Version: 1.1
I really like the gradual alarm and the soothing sounds provided. I think I must not move much as the alarm has tended to go off at the time I set it for, never any earlier. This is certainly a more affordable solution than many of the others on the app store.
Don't bother
predom
Version: 1.2
It seems like a good idea but I bought it and I agree with an earlier poster that said its not worth it to have to keep your screen on all night. Most people say it works so if it worked in sleep mode I would probably use it. But it doesn't.
no iTouch support
one of the boys
Version: 1.1
originally no iTouch support. then they turn on iTouch compatibility. then they update to solve problems. now no itouch support again. seems like they should have found a solution to the problems that still included iTouch support.
Never turns off
the real SHAC
Version: 1.1
It keeps your screen lit all night. No thanks! Ruining my screen isn't worth $0.99
Amazing App
illucius
Version: 1.1
This might just be me favourite app now. It really works in that in wakes me up more refreshed in the morning than before. Seems like magic, almost. It's very easy to use too.... just follow the instructions and it's not a problem. My only complaints would be to Apple to allow this app to run while the phone is locked so I don't need to keep it plugged in overnight and drain battery. I understand this is not an issue with the developer, but caused by restrictions by Apple. Hopefully these can be removed in the future. Still though, this is an amazing app... you wont regret using it.
Excellent program!
Kuznagi
Version: 1.1
I used this for a few days now and it does seem to wake me up at differant times but I have a lot more energy, has no heating issues under my bed covers.
Sleep Cycle Alam Clock - It Works for Me
ellcre
Version: 1.1
I've always said if I wake up at the wrong time I feel groggy all day. This is the first time there appears to be a way to wake up at the right time. I've used version 1.1 for several nights now and it is working for me. Also, it has not caused any noticable drain on my battery as apparently was the case with 1.0
Ok
iDakota
Version: 1.1
The sounds are kind of low but also I have my fans running so that might be the cause.
Overall this App is awesome detects ur movmnt since u tend to move more toward when you wake up.
If you want a good night sleep buy this! However read the directions on the app to get best usage.
Smart and friendly alarm clock!
Puzzlier
Version: 1.1
Regular alarm clock usually doesn't care what you are in deep sleep or not. This smart app is different. If you remember a really bad feeling when you had to wake up by unmerciful alarm clock, this one will be good solution. It knows right time when you wake up. Don't throw your old alarm clock to the wall any more!
Must-have app
Juan Pablo!
Version: 1.1
I gave version 1.1 a try and the phone was not warm at all in the morning and fully charged. Works perfectly now! For this price it's a bargain.
Simple but it really works for me!
Gillinator
Version: 1.1
I've been using it a week and was pretty sceptical about it. Well I can say it works! I have woken up more refreshed, and the amazing thing is that it seems to have trained my mind to wake up at the proper part of my cycle because I have started waking up on my own right before the alarm goes off! No battery or heat problems for me, just leave it plugged in face down and it turns off the LCD, and it's fully charged in the morning like it should be. Now I do wonder how much data it collects through the night to calculate your sleep cycle- it would be nice in an update to include a graph view of your cycles because a. it'd be interesting to see and b. it would provide proof that it's actually doing something other than waking you up when it senses some motion. Other requests, a "snooze" button (I know it's against the whole point to snooze, it's still comforting to have one) and the option to wake up to a song on your iPhone. I love this little app though, it's well worth its price even if you don't buy into the concept completely!
Hasn't worked 4 me yet
Iloveelvisyesido&helovesmetoo
Version: 1.0
I love the idea, but for the past 3 nites I have plugged the phone in, put it on airplane mode, kept the screen to never go off, did the test ro make sure it made a sound when I moved, put the phone under my fitted sheet under my pillow face down and I've been late for class 3 mornings because the alarm never went off. I'd look at my phone and it was shut off all 3 times. Black screen, one time the battery was actually dead, while it was charging.
I should of stuck with Absalt Easy Wake Alarm- nothing ever goes wrong with that
does not work as advertised, kills battery, overheats
mountainboy
Version: 1.0
i'm really hopeful that the 1.1 update will fix the issues that i and others have experienced - i'm looking forward to giving this app another shot. in the meantime, i wish that LexWare would update their description to alert potential buyers that the app doesn't work as advertised, and has potentially dangerous risks of overheating next to your head. the description casually mentions that the 1.1 update fixes serious problems - and that's a good start - but with the risks, it's worth mentioning at the top of the description.
This clock us awesome
Henrik Johnson
Version: 1.0
It sort of just know when I'm awake and just let's me know so I get up.
