You say "more than a few times I've been in a bookstore or music store, and pulled up the app to snap an item, only to find it cheaper somewhere online" -- do you see anything wrong that? How is a local 'brick & mortar' retail store who sets themselves up for you to come in and browse around (and thereby undertaking significant overhead) going to compete with an "online retailer" after you've had a chance to "check it out" in person? How would you like it if that were your bookstore? I use the app in brick and mortar stores, and if the "in person" price is close, I go ahead and buy it even though I may have been able to save a couple bucks online. I got this app a week after I bought my books for school, and discovered that I could have gotten all of them for about half of what I paid. I guess I'll be able to put this to better use next quarter. Awesome app btw!

Works just like says it does Some people are hating on it but that's cuz they don't know how to use "Apps" in general. If they keep crashing reboot! If it still happens it's not always the app you might have too much junk on your phone that's hogging all your memory!

It takes a very long time to display results. Once it pulls it up, the app does everything as advertised. Would be 5 stars if it worked faster.

I am totally impressed with this app - it really works and it's free! I've taken snaps of books and CDs in low light, with distracting backgrounds, on the cell network as well as WiFi and it just plain works. The RottenTomatoes link for DVDs is sweet as well. This app is free and you owe it a try!

Works extremly well! I even tried to trick it with somewhat rare underground titles and it figured most of them out. Didn't recognize an original copy of WipeOut for Playststion 1 though. Overall just plain awesome.

I have to say that I didn't think this thing was going to work either, and if it did, then it probably couldn't find many of the books I took pictures of. Boy was I wrong. I've taken pictures of many books, and it has found everyone so far. It does what it says it does.

I tried snapping Video games and if just listed the guides for the game and not the games themselves. I tried two different games. I'll just stick to Google search. Cool idea though, if improved... 5 stars.

Occasionally gets video games confused with their strategy guides, but managed to identify everything else very well, and surprisingly fast. Seems to work faster with better pictures, but accepts crappy ones too.
App Artwork CONSTANTLY broken, screws up download

This app keeps screwing up my downloads, because they can't keep the app artwork updated properly. Lots of annoyance for a mediocre program, and I can't even get rid of it, because the broken artwork doesn't let it download completely!

Very good start on a program that has the potential to be amazing. You must add support for Barcode and ISBN.

Now when I go to blockbuster or barns and noble I won't have to guess if this book or movie is good.. Way too many times have I bought or rented a bad movie..
Just take a picture and you get reviews, info, actors, and more!
As a gamer also I take pics of game boxes and it give me a score! No more renting bad games like spider man 3 LOL and use this before spending over 60 bucks on a game!
And it's free.. So download it!!

Ok... This is free, GET IT if for nothing else it is amazing how well it works, I am just going around my house snapping pictures trying to get it to screw up, and it has been perfect so far, this is truly amazing... Between this and Shazam, finding and purchasing media on the go has never been easier.
UPDATE: OK, this thing just found a random Disney book from my childhood that was printed in 1983!

I just tried it and it is very impressive. With links to more databases I would even pay for this app. Usually when I go to blockbuster to pick a movie I go to Imdb and search for the movie. This app will make it easier and faster.

Tried DVDs, CDs, Video Games, and Books and they all show up. Now it would be cool if it would work with more than just those things because most of those have the title right on the cover but this does provide more info such as rating and actors so its still a quick search with only using just a camera.

I was hoping for an app to scan barcodes to look up information about the product. This goes beyond that and scans the packaging. The recognition is very reliable.
