This app has proven very useful and really saves time if you're paying with a card. Thanks for getting the startup bug fixed.

Orange can works terrific!!!
Good app

Version: 2.3
Sufficient. This is how we should ask for cabs. Still need the dispatcher to talk to in a pinch. I want my stats kept also. There should be some reward for being a good customer.
Taxi Magic IS magic
Nik Gibbens
Version: 2.3
This app makes booking a cab in Seattle fast and efficient. You don't have to explain locations and directions to the driver; it's all networked from your iPhone to the can meter. It knows the address that you plug in for pickup and drop-off. Purely magical app!
Used to work. Doesn't anymore.
Slummy D
Version: 2.3
Once great app is now garbage. It won't load address data nor will it recognize my local Taxi Magic fleet (which has a Taxi Magic console in ever car),
good app

I have used this app in my home city of newport beach and other areas like LA and San Francisco. In all locations it has worked and worked quickly. All the drivers have been good and I love the app!! I have paid for the ride via PayPal but everything else is fantastic!!
Worked great!

Version: 2.3
I travel all over the world. I downloaded the app even though the reviews were only mediocre. I was in St. Louis and had to get to the airport. Now I was at a hospital, not always the easiest place to navigate to find someone. Used the app, got confirmation of the reservation, tracked the cab on route, and even had the name and phone number of the driver. What more could one ask for in an app. Got the cab in the time promised, made my flight, will use the app again. A colleague was with me on a BB and was amazed.
Great app!

I use taxi magic all the time. It's great!
Amazing app for getting cabs
CalifDude
Version: 2.3
I've tried this about 20 or so times in San Francisco. The app works great. Even the taxi provider in San Francisco, Luxor, which has been unreliable, seems a lot better. Occasionally they still are dispatched, but pick up a different rider and leave me hanging. The same results happen when I call Luxor directly, so it's definitely not the app. Although, lately more often than not, it works. And when it does work, the app is amazing. So much better than long hold times when calling some cab companies. Plus you get a wealth of info. When you book, you get the taxi number and driver's name that will be picking you up. This app also gives you an estimate of the cab fare and allows you to watch the cab's location on a map. I'd love if this app partnered with more taxi providers in San Francisco. But overall, this works perfectly.
Top 10 app!

Version: 1.6
Taxi magic works as advertised. Free, fast, and a good interface.
Getting a cab in SF with Magic Taxi is faster than calling Luxor yourself, and if you pay cash, there is no surcharge.
Love the app
Sapz
Version: 1.5
I use it daily in Chicago. Quick and easy! I wish they had a way to reset the password.
Faster than calling
Kokoe
Version: 1.5
Much faster than calling & you know when the cab has been assigned. Much better than the rudeness + "10 to 30 minutes" you get from dispatcher. Also provides phone directory for places not supported by electronic dispatch.
Only place the service failed me was Golden Gate park at night. Still a 5-star app. I blame the cab company for that mishap.
It's the only way I book taxis now!
Surfing Walt
Version: 1.5
I've been using this app for months and I love it. It's been steadily improving and I find it reliable and fast. The taxi is normally there in less than 10 minutes after pressing the "book" button. Keep up the great work.
Calling for a cab that never shows up is a thing fo the past!

Version: 1.5
In San Francisco, Taxi Magic works like a charm. I can't tell you how many times I've called for a taxi and waited over 30 minutes before giving up.
Taxi Magic means no more Taxi Tragic.
Best App

Version: 1.5
Works like a charm I need a cab. Love that the creators are here in Chicago. Wouldn't need this app in NYC, so many cabs all the time, but things are different here in the Midwest.
Amazing convenience and service!
DSH7878
Version: 1.5
A must-have! This is one of my absolute favorite apps. Type in your address, press one button and a cab shows up wherever you are. Besides the convenience, the ability to pay by credit card through your phone allows you to avoid the worry of confronting angry cabbies who refuse to take credit and also helps keep cash in your wallet. Well worth the $1.50 fee. Or just pay cash like usual if you prefer. After trying this app, catching a cab any other way will just seem pointless.
The best app on my phone!

Version: 1.5
This is one of those apps that makes my phone invaluable.
Best way to hail a cab
GB94115
Version: 1.5
TaxiMagic is awesome. I have a broken leg and have to take taxis to and from Doctor's appointments and work. Since Taxi Magic shows how far away the cab is when the driver takes the call, I can estimate when to go outside. Plus, I can pay by credit card so I don't have to carry tons of cash.
It's "magic" because it makes taxis disappear

Version: 1.5
At 3pm I requested a taxi for 7:55 pm. At 9pm got a text message saying one still had not been dispatched, so I called a cab and had one at my house in 5 minutes. At 10:21pm I got the message that a can was being dispatched for my 7:55pm request, 2 1/2 hours late. Magic!
Great app

Version: 1.5
I can book a cab from anywhere in Chicago in any weather. No waiting outside in the hopes one appears
This is a must have app!

Version: 1.5
First and for most this app like all apps is not 110% flawless but it is darn close. This app is easy use and works well. I never got excited to book a cab in the past until now!
Very Reliable

Version: 1.5
Have used over a dozen times in Chicago. Works like a charm.
Awesome app!
happydoginchicago
Version: 1.5
This app is great. Bills to your cc on file and they e-mail you a receipt. No waiting for the taxi driver to run the credit card or tell you that the machine is broken. You can also go online and print previous receipts too.
Reliable and efficient! 5-star all the way. One of my favorite apps!
Your money "magically" disappears
Sad & Pathetic LA-based Music Snob
Version: 2.0
It's been said over and over again but it really can't be stressed here enough: they hold $45 per attempt at a taxi ride using a credit card. This is not per completed ride, or sucessful pickup or any other rational verifiable proof of service rendered, but rather each attempt no matter if a cab is cancelled by the cab company, turns out to be a no-show, or a different cab shows up them the one with your info. When these things happen, the app let's you rebook, and charges you another $45. In one busy night, you can easily rack up hundreds of dollars for taxi rides YOU DID NOT TAKE. Sure, eventually you'll get your money back. Anywhere from 5-10 days. What the goddamn hell? I had just gotten paid and these hundreds of dollars of untaken taxi authorizations causes me to have to pawn my MacBook to eat. Now there's an Apple ad for you!!!
It's really is magic . . . as in watch phantom charges appear before your very eyes!

Version: 1.5
After my friend told me how great TaxiMagic was, I added it to my phone. At first, I only used cash but one day, I was in a pinch because I had no cash oh hand so I entered my credit card information. I paid for the ride, and then got a text message saying that it was cancelled. So I booked it again, and again it was cancelled. Finally the driver called me to see what the heck was going on and if I still needed the cab, which I did. We even talked about what happened during the drive. When we got to where I needed to be, there was no fare from TaxiMagic relayed to the driver's meter so I had to pay him directly . . . And then RideCharge charged me for the two cancelled bookings on top of what I paid directly to my driver-after fees, I paid almost $60 for one less than cab ride that should have been $16-20. I have been through at least twenty emails (no really, I counted) with TaxiMagic's parent company RideCharge trying to resolve this issue, explaining it as clearly as you are reading it here. All that I get in response is that they don't understand what I am telling them. Really? Then I sent them a copy of my credit card receipt from the driver as well as a screen shot of my bank statement showing all three charges and they still didn't understand. Finally, I had to call the cab company and talk to their accounting person. Guess what? It's happened before and he promised to get in touch with his contact at RideCharge to see what they could do. Finally, after all of that, they refunded me but for only one of the charges. When I asked about the second charge, they started all over again with the "I don't understand". No kidding-it's like Who's On First What's On Second. Worst Customer Service EVER!!! Finally my bank gave me their phone number from the charge records and I was able to call them . . . and leave a voicemail. :? Who knows if I will ever get the rest of my money back. My advice, either pay with cash or stick to the old fashioned way-call and talk to the actual dispatcher. If you really want to use your iPhone, there even are other apps that dial for you. PS-I told my friend who recommended the application originally, he's since deleted it in solidarity.
Two cab rides later. . .
HooperCurtii
Version: 1.5
Something they should mention when using this app, it that you get charged $1.50 on top of the cab fare, and tip.
Second. . . This is the big issue. . . When paying for the cab using the devise, it holds ( well at least for me ) it held back $45.00 for a $10.50 cab ride the first time around, and then another $45.00 for a cab that someone else got in, got another cab, paid cash, had to cancel the first cab on the app, the app wouldn't let me, had to call the cab company, had to call my bank, and still 24 hours later I'm still short $80 for one cab ride using this app.
You should give some warning before upcharging a users account, and for the $1.50 convience fee.

I am charged $1.50 every time I use this app. It would be free for me to call so I won't be using this app anymore.
needs work
taxirider
Version: 1.3
The booking part of the app works fantastic, just as advertised. The problem is when you use the app NOT as a guest and you enter your credit card information. Every successive time the app is used, independent of whether you pay via credit card through the app, the app charges you a $1.50 fee. Further, the app OFTEN gets the rides wrong and will charge you some random fee for a ride you never took. In summary, great app BUT DO NOT PROVIDE CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.
On 3GS it Crashes During Booking... :(

Version: 1.3
This was my number-one app for several months, and now it's been useless after I upgraded my phone.
Functionality good, UI not so much

Version: 1.2
Obviously there is a wide range of satisfaction with this app, owing mainly to its "Magic Book" dispatch integration being deployed only in certain cities (though, notably, the cities with supported taxi services are clearly listed in the app's description). I can vouch for the electronic dispatch in the Denver/Boulder, CO area - it has worked perfectly for me with Yellow Cab several times. I agree with other reviewers that a field for destination address would be a logical feature addition and I haven't used RideCharge to pay by credit card yet, but I've found the e-dispatch booking functionality to be well implemented, overall. It's certainly a major improvement over dealing with the Yellow Cab call center humans in my area. :) The three times I've requested a cab via this app have all resulted in one showing up in less than 5min, with several live status updates prior to arrival, even. This is faster response than I've *ever* once gotten by calling for a cab in the traditional manner, which I've done in Boulder perhaps 100 times over the last few years. My only complaint about the app is its user interface: the settings are only accessible by a button which disappears as soon as aGPS location is complete, the taxi company listings screen doesn't come remotely close to following iPhone OS UI design guidelines (nor does the rest of the app though, so at least it's consistent), and text entry fields are oddly sized and poorly responsive. Fortunately, once you've entered the pertinent data in settings and saved a few pickup addresses, the process is more or less a one-touch experience. Four stars for the cool e-dispatch functionality...five if the UI is improved.
Keeps crashing
Traine
Version: 1.2
Every time I get to the part where it's supposed to book the cab it crashes. Have tried reinstalling but doesn't help. Used to work like a dream but now is non-functional.
Never dispached taxi...

I refreshed and refreshed but it never dispached the taxi. Bad!

Version: 1.0
This app truly is magic. My friends and I walked out of our hotel room and just prior to stepping on the elevator, I sent my "taxi summons." By the time we rode the elevator down and walked out front, we didn't wait more than 10 sec. and our taxi was there.
On the way back, the restaurant grabbed us a taxi and went I tried to cancel the one on its way already, the "cancel" wouldn't work. Otherwise, a GREAT app!
WONDERFUL... if you live in a big city
Flixs
Version: 1.1
In Chicago, it looks like there's only one company that fully integrates with the system and it appears BIG on top of the list. In fact, it's so big that you can miss it! I actually didn't see it and I was about to delete this app and give it a 1-star because of this!
Otherwise it's great to book a taxi in less than a minute AND being able to really know when it'll arrive. Compare this to calling in, being on hold for several minutes, giving your address to the operator, only to be told at the end that "your taxi should be there within 30 minutes".
A must have app! Can't wait to have the payment option implemented. Oh, btw... RideCharge, why is this app not featured on your website? Only the BlackBerry, WM and generic phones are listed!
Taxi Magic is fantastic! I can't believe how easy this they make it!
jeff_laguna
Version: 1.1
Easy to use, even easier once I set up my account with RideCharge, I really like being cashless with taxi's and the email receipts.
Best taxi app I've ever seen!
Suntoast
Version: 1.1
Hands down the best taxi application I've seen. This is great for businesss travelers like me.
Wow. You can pay by phone on the new version. This is way more secure than handing a cab driver my credit card.
Works in Chicago!

Great App! Works Well!
The Go Getter
Version: 1.0
No, I am not paid to do this. I have written many reviews throughout the iTunes Store. This app is great. I have actually had taxi drivers tell me that they prefer getting orders from iPhone's than through dispatch. This is actually much faster and efficient than waiting for the operator. I take taxis a lot and this has worked every time for me. They do have a hideous icon and there are features on the Blackberry/Windows versions that aren't available here, but, according to the developers, this will change soon.

Version: 1.0
This app worked great for me in Houston on 12/31/08. However, since that one time, all I get is a list of numbers to call. I do not need an app for that.
So Cool!
Josh V,
Version: 1.0
I was pretty skeptical, but this actually works great! I've used it in San Fran and San Jose and on a recent trip to Austin. It works great and it's so simple. There's nothing to figure out at all. You just click the the App, and it figures out where you are and with one click a cab's on the way. This is SO much better than just calling in. When will we be able to pay from the phone??
Security and Reliability

Booking and paying with your iPhone is WAAAAY cool. No more handing your card to the driver, no concerns over security once you leave, booking and paying with your iPhone is a must-have. I love it

Version: 1.0
It doesn't take long to figure out how to use it, and once you do, it's a lot easier than calling a cab, at least for those companies that support the application. It's also more convenient than having to fill your contact list with taxi numbers.
I love this app!
Alexandria Taxi User
Version: 1.0
It's ingenious! Avoid calling in by ordering through your phone, getting real-time updates of your order, and paying the driver with your iPhone? What better way to deal with taking a taxi?! Great work! I love this app and will never call to order a taxi again!
I love the service

Very easy to use and makes it enjoyable to order a taxi. Give it a try....you will not want to order a taxi any other way.
Best "Taxi" app, by far, because of its "magic" connection to computer in the Cab
OMG!!!!!!! Its Me
Version: 1.0
Very cool--if not magic--because my rides have been dispatched in just seconds each time. It told me the cabs location, its number and the drivers name. No more wondering if my cab is on the way. Its the coolest way to find a taxi.
IT WORKS!!

Version: 1.0
I tried this app for the first time after touching down at DCA, while on the runway. I didn't have to wait in the que and had the cab meet me at a designated door of the airport. It worked great!
Neat!

Version: 1.0
It tells me when my taxi is dispatched and even informs me how far my taxi is from my current location.
One of the best apps I've downloaded without doubt !

Version: 1.0
I love it! It's so easy, very intuitive and reliable. I don't know how they're able to get all the taxi companies to work with this system but it truly shows, giving u the dispatch distance and time is very handy. I hope they'll come out with a version that allows u to pay on the app.
Brilliant!

Version: 1.1
During the afternoons it's easy to hail a cab in my neighborhood. But at night or at the extremes of the city? It can take an hour to get one. This program bypasses all that and summons the nearest cab to your door. Amazing. Another breakthrough for the iphone. Works perfectly every time!
Fantastic!

Version: 1.0
Absolutely wonderful. Booked cab: was notified when it was dispatched, the drivers name and ID, and their distance away.
Very good app

Version: 1.0
I really like this app, I just wish there were cab companies in Virginia beach that actually had this connected to their systems. In San diego it works great. Having all the cab numbers there are great. I give it four stars since I can only use it to call cabs. If I coould do the rest it would be a five. Get this app.
No bueno
