I'm a librarian and was expecting great things from this app. Unfortunately the developer missed the best use of a mobile device by not including the item's location within the library. Who wants to walk all the way across the building when you should be able to use this app to locate books from within the stacks.

Works as advertised, though the navigation is a little wonky, hanging up and showing delays, as well as being a little confusing. Also, if no local libraries are carrying a book, it would be nice to say so plainly rather than have the 'Libraries' heading on a results screen with nothing under it; not very intuitive.

The app, though sloppy around the edges, as others have noted, works well enough for basic searches. For more advanced searching, you'll want to go to the website or, better, to a local library that has FirstSearch. WorldCat itself misleads badly, and it's time they came clean about it. They don't tell you thus up front, but only those libraries large enough or rich enough to pay a very hefty extra fee have their holdings listed. That means it is very likely your local or school library or another close by will not show up in the list of owning libraries, and you could travel 50 miles to get something that's actually availble five blocks away. Sadly, the only way to do a truly comprehensive search of the OCLC database is to go to one of those larger or richer libraries and ask to use FirstSearch. In other words, you would have to travel 50 miles to that FirstSearch-subscribing library to find out that the library five blocks away from you owns the thing you're looking for. WorldCat could be one of the wonders of the modern world. There ought to be a huge public outcry about this.

When the opening screen has a "Back" button, you know you're in trouble. Every time I try to use this app, I find more things to dislike about it. I have yet to find anything I like. The discontinued iPhone-optimized site wasn't all that good, but it was tons better than this.

This search is cool! I found The Kite Runner with Kit Run. I like the way the maps of the libraries works just like Google Maps - I found my nearest library in 3 clicks including launching the program!

The bottom tab covering the words drives me nuts. Also, pleace smoothen out the interface and let us favorite libraries and search only them or from only one. Other than that, this us a good start! Keep up the good work!(;

It doesn't seem like this is actually a product of WorldCat/OCLC, because when you first start it, there is a Boopsie agreement you have to agree to. Then it couldn't handle a location change (I was in Santa Monica, wanted to examine libraries in SF Valley which I specified by zip code) -- it basically hung. Screen handling also is not smooth, the program freezes and hangs. And the weird thing is the upper right icon that is "channels" which takes you to all sorts of weird AOL and entertainment stuff -- what does this have to do with WorldCat?
